What color does the flower girl wear?

I have seen it done both ways, they either wear white or the same color as the bridesmaids, I’m not sure which one is better! Thoughts? Our color is burgundy (Cabernet technically).

I like the idea of the flower girl in white. I think it gives her the feeling of playing dress up and feeling super pretty, which can help keep her occupied.

I am doing a Beauty and the Beast themed wedding. The flower girls are going to be wearing yellow bell dresses. My maid of honor is wearing red and my bridesmaids are wearing blue.

I think it’s whatever you prefer. When I was little I always wore the color the bridesmaids were wearing as the flower girl.

They are also often not matching BM but not white. Same color family as BM, in. Lighter or darker shade, as wearing a deep pink when BM are in wine or fuchsia, or a light blue-greens when BM in dark teal. And very often, a light print, when BM are wearing solids. I personally hate it gets baby bride in white type. And because it is almost guaranteed to never be wearable with the slightest stain, and may not make it from getting dressed through pics without a stain, as either a parent or bride, I would say no to all white. Watercolor or small prints, show marks the least.

I think white looks better especially in pictures with the bride however that’s my own opinion and we are not having kids at the wedding but instead my grandparents are taking the place as ring bearer and flower girl!!! I think you should do what you think will look best personally!

Ah ok. I was asking because my flower girl is in another wedding three months prior and if we both choose white she doesn’t have to buy two dresses

Actually, in any European or British Isles, or any group with a Christian base, the color of purity is generally blue, which is why you see Virgin Mary and many other historic figures of purity , and old time Baptismal robes, and old confirmation robes we're portrayed in blue on statues, in paitings, church glass and tile work and art. Wedding gowns even for the rich in most Western countries were not wearing church or bridal white until after Queen Victoria, except by royalty. In the late 1800's in Britain and America, people with enough money to have a special dress made began to imitate royalty and wear white. And in US women wore their best dress or suit up to WWII unless wealthy. White is the color of rich people who can wear it new, pristine, unstained , in times without modern laundry and with water filtered, not from wells or streams . And who can afford to have a special dress for a wedding that is not later worn as their best dress or church dress. Asian and African cultures are different.
Check bridal history. It's a hoot.

Mother of 5 here. Cute in white loses it the first drink they have that day, even milk. And God help you if it is punch or fruit juice based . Most synthetics, poly or nylon, cannot be bleached white.
