What colors for venue?

Sandra, on January 12, 2018 at 2:26 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8
What colors would you decorate with here? I just added this venue on for my reception to save my backyard wedding but my colors are/were dusty blues. Now I'm in a panic because I don't feel blue will go well here.

I agree with Emma. You can use the dusty blues you already have and add some natural greenery. Silver dollar eucalyptus and accents of ivory and or blush and maybe a metallic. Do you have the option to take some color options back and take pictures? If so, do it during the time of your reception so you get a general idea of any lighting. You might change your mind then. I went to my venue 3 times and took pics from different angels to make a solid choice. Good luck, I’m sure it will be beautiful

My colors are steel blue, navy, and white with gold accents. I'm getting married in a similar setting. (pic below). With lights, white table cloths, the whole nine all dressed up it'll look beautiful!

Yes definitely agree with Emma when you are dealing with darker rooms you definitely want to go with a lighter color dress.

I can see the maroon painted wall and deep cherry wood wall trim that you may be talking about. I think with some pretty string lights on the ceiling, and the right table decorations and pillar decorations too that blue would be fine here. The red will provide a nice contrast without needing to be one of your colors. Similar to how the green in flowers doesn't have to be a color, but compliments flowers nicely.

When I enlarge the pic, that room isn't dark at all. There are windows along the whole left wall for a start. For a July wedding, it will be light outside till what- 9:30-10pm?

You can use any color you want in a light or dark room. The lighting is controlled by you, not the color of your decor. The previous suggestions for color palettes would be beautiful. You can adjust the light with candles, candle lanterns, fairy lights, string lights, hanging paper lanterns etc.

I don't think you need to change bridesmaid's dress color, but just keep the tablecloths light if you can.
