What Crazy Way Did Your fs Meet Your Family?

Hahaha! Poor FH…. But dad sounds like a good sport! LOL
When I first started dating my fiancé, he, I, and my parents lived in three separate states. So we had actually planned out a trip to my hometown so they could meet him. There is a big festival in my hometown every year, so it seemed like the perfect time to take him there- lots of fun stuff to do, so no pressure to spend a ton of time with the family if it was uncomfortable… just laid back, no pressure. EXCEPT my mom once again omitted important information because “I could have sworn I told you” (insert eye roll)… that the family decided to have a huge family reunion during the festival that year. My poor boyfriend really got thrown to the wolves- not only did he meet my parents and brother for the first time, but also over 70 other relatives 🤦🏼‍♀️ I felt so horrible for the poor guy. But he handled it like a champ, and everyone loved him!

I met my husband's family on our 2nd or 3rd date lol. We were 22 and he was living at home after returning from college, so I went over to hang out with him and met the whole family - had dinner with them and everything He met my dad a couple weeks later when he was in town for a business trip (my family lives 6+ hours away) and I thought it was only fair that they meet after I met his family so soon! Everyone hit it off, though!

Haha! I met my FHs parents in a funny way (that they don't remember!)

Before FH and I started dating, his cousin was my best friend. We were out one night and she said she needed to drop by her family christmas party after party (long story, but basically FHs parents host a huge xmas party early in Dec and then the close family and friends go back to their place to keep drinking)

So I went with cousin where I met FHs dad, who asked if he could make me a drink, and then grabbed a glass, filled it with ice, and started to pour vodka. He got distracted and overfilled the glass so it was spilling on his hand that was holding the cup. He stopped pouring, took a swig of the straight vodka, topped it with OJ and then handed it to me. He SWEARS he doesn't remember this (it was my first drink of the night so I do!)

FH and I started dating a few months later and when I met his parents I mentioned meeting at the party and they both said "Well we probably don't really remember that, so lets pretend this is the first time meeting" LOL

My fh lived about 2 hours from me when we started dating and I was staying with my mom Temporarily after leaving my ex. My car got towed while I was there and I couldn't afford to get it back so my mom picked me up to take me back to her house. This was like maybe a month after we started dating so he met my mom and my son way earlier than I anticipated. I was also worried that I wouldn't see him anymore since we were long distance and I no longer had a car. But he drove to pick me up every week until we moved in together ❤

Well my fiancé and I live in a different state than my family so once I told my parents I was moving in with him they wanted to come meet him. We agreed to meet up at a casino on the strip (we live in Vegas) and we meet my parents and go down the escalator to the casino. Literally five minutes in our good friend is coming up the escalator and see us… and yells Will’s a d**** bag… 🤦🏽‍♀️ I don’t even think my parents heard or realized. But we were both in shock. We made our way to the casino and got coffee where my fiancé spilled an entire cup of coffee down the front of his brand new white Ralph Lauren polo. And the rest is history 😂

Awww, my fiance met my parents and vice-versa in a really non-crazy way so I have nothing to share, but these stories are adorable and too funny!

We lived in a different state than my family (Arizona with family in California). There was a really bad fire burning in the mountains of our town and I ended up with a severe asthma attack and just dropped to the floor passing out after making us dinner one night. FH rushed me to the hospital where he then had to call my mom and dad at almost one in the morning explaining who he was and that their daughter was in the hospital. Haha.

He officially met them about 5 months later and actually asked my dad permission to marry me at their first meeting.

Oh my gosh! I feel his pain! My first husband, our second date was me going to his grandma's 80th birthday party. I was dumped right into the whole crew! At least I got it over with fast.

That's fantastic! My FH and I were 4 hours apart and two months in, my car's engine totally died. I FEEL YOUR PAIN! Glad love triumphed over the car!
