What did I do to deserve this (TMI health related)

JMedd, on May 24, 2013 at 8:49 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 37

The big day is tomorrow and right now everything is great except me. I caught bronchitis during my bachelorette party in Tampa a couple weeks ago and went to an Urgent Care clinic. The put me on some antibiotics and I've still got a lingering cough, but it's manageable. Now, I don't know if it's because of the antibiotics or something else, but my nether region has been burning and itching for two days. My OBGYN called in a prescription for it and it hasn't yet kicked in yet, which makes me think it could be something else. I was able to get a doctor appt today down near my wedding venue, thank God. This couldn't be worse timing with it being a holiday weekend, my wedding, and leaving for the honeymoon on Tuesday. Please keep me in your prayers. Smiley sad

Oh JMedd, Im so sorry! It's most likely from the antibiotics. Sometimes it takes a lil while for the meds to kick in.

Im sure the Dr will give you something that'll help. Try not to stress too much!!! Tomorrow will be perfect!!

If you have a yeast infection from the antibiotics, eat yogurt! Yogurt with live cultures put the good bacteria back into your digestive system. It should state on the label that it has live cultures, one brand that does is Yoplait. Buy two or three things of it, and it should be gone by tomorrow night.

Reading from live strong, one of the steps is to take a sitting bath, with the cool/cold water going to your area.

So sorry! Antibiotics have that affect on me as well. You should eat yogurt each time you take them (if you take them twice a day, eat two yogurts). Or you could take probiotics. My understanding is the antibiotics kill all bacteria in your body, including the good bacteria that keeps us healthy down there. So sorry, hope something helps soon!

Put a cup of apple cider vinegar in the bath, no soap just water and vinegar it will soothe the itch/burn. Also eat plain yougart no fruit or sugar in it. If your bronchitis was bad you may just need a little steroid or a breathing treatment to clean up the lungs a little.

So sorry Hon your going through this on your big day.The itching is mostly likely from the antibiotic that's giving you a yeast infection. Whenever I need to take antibiotics my physician calls in Diflucan, it's one pill that works immediately to get rid of the yeast infection.

The problem with antibiotics is that they upset a balance in your system and kill the good along with the bad. I'm guessing yeast infection too so it'll kick in soon. You'll be feeling fine very soon. Hang in there.

Domodora can help with external itching in the nether region. It goes on like a paste and it works amazingly well (and fast).

Oh I forgot about the yogurt!! I had a friend who was diabetic and on lots of meds so she used to get EXTREME yeast infections constantly. Her Dr told her to actually put the yogurt ON her nether region. She said it was instant relief.

(sounds weird , I know! lol)

Antibiotics can cause yeast infections. Its pretty common and that is most likely what it is. Try the yogurt, but get on Diflucan asap. The Diflucan should clear it up in 24 hours.

Hopefully it will all clear up by tomorrow! But the cheapest and fastest solution would be the yogurt. I'd start there. It couldn't hurt to try, right? Maybe ask the Dr. at your appt today what their opinion is about the yogurt.

Antibiotics tend to lend to yeast infections/Candida b/c it strips away your good bacteria like @Tiffany M. said but when dealing with the yogurt aspect the intent is not to eat it but use it as you would Monistat, in other words it needs to be inserted & I don't mean the fruity kind, lol. My suggestion would be to find a health food store like GNC or Vitamin Shoppe to find a probiotic to put back the live cultures that were stripped. Whole Foods would have them too. Also yeast feeds on sugar & carbs so you might want to eliminate that from your diet for quicker results. The brand that comes to mind is ReNew Life, make sure to get a consultation to find the right strength. Good luck & I hope this helps & that you feel better soon!

Also, dairy lends to mucus build up so while trying to get rid of that last bit of phlegm avoid dairy too for speedier results.
