The big day is tomorrow and right now everything is great except me. I caught bronchitis during my bachelorette party in Tampa a couple weeks ago and went to an Urgent Care clinic. The put me on some antibiotics and I've still got a lingering cough, but it's manageable. Now, I don't know if it's because of the antibiotics or something else, but my nether region has been burning and itching for two days. My OBGYN called in a prescription for it and it hasn't yet kicked in yet, which makes me think it could be something else. I was able to get a doctor appt today down near my wedding venue, thank God. This couldn't be worse timing with it being a holiday weekend, my wedding, and leaving for the honeymoon on Tuesday. Please keep me in your prayers. Smiley sad

Awwwww sweetie I'm so sorry, what awful timing! I know exacting what your going through though, everytime I'm on antibiotics it happens to the point that My dr prescribes yeast infection meds as prevention most times. I assume what the Dr gave you was either diflucan or if generic fluconazole, it does take a while to kick it but I usually find of I get the stuff made by azo you can find at drug stores or even Walmart cheaper it gives more relief sooner. Here's aid of what I'm talking about....

Gahhh that sucks! It's probably not something else, yeast infections usually don't clear up instantly it takes a day or two for symptoms to go away. i wouldn't worry much that it's something else though, antibiotics cause them frequently. ask the doc for a topical cream you can use to make you feel more comfortable while the meds work, they help a ton!

also, if the doc won't give you a "just in case" perscription to take on your honeymoon in case it comes back, then pick up a pack of monistat or something at the pharmacy to bring on your trip.

I'm so sorry you are going through this with your big day right here, but I'm sure everything will be ok. I have had this problem before b/c of antibiotics. Yogurt definitely helps. The doc will give you good meds too. Praying that you feel a million times better tomorrow Smiley smile

I hope it clears up quickly! There is nothing worse than having to deal with all of that stuff right before the big day. If it makes you feel better, I just pulled a side muscle between my ribs and can barely move and my wedding is next weekend. Praying for a speedy recovery for you!

Sarah B. I'm hoping you have a speedy recovery. I took the fluconazole a few days ago and it really hasn't helped, but the doctor did confirm it was yeast and not something else, which is good. I've also been taking the azo tablets since yesterday and I just find the itching and burning to be worse when I clean with bodywash. All of your suggestions have been very helpful. I'm goin to be eating spoonfuls of yogurt and I need to find something to make yogurt Popsicles if this persists.

Drink Kefir! Also summer's eve body wash is gentle & shouldn't burn, grab some of that! Monistat also has cream that eases the burn!

I used to have recurring yeast infections so I feel your pain!!

I always get a yeast infection when on antibiotics. Eat yogurt witge every dose od medicine you take. And in the future ask for diflocan also when you are getting an antibiotic.

That is no fun Smiley sad it is most likely a yeast infection from the antibiotics. Anytime I am prescribed antibiotics, I always ask for a script for Diflucan. Hope you are feeling better soon. And also remember that if on BC, antibiotics will reduce their effectiveness... Happy wedding day! Try to take in and enjoy every moment.
