Absolutely!! My Save-the-Dates were in a fall style because I sent them in fall, but the invitations themselves are more spring/summery because the wedding is in June. It's whatever you want. Smiley smile

They can all totally be different! The Save The Dates that my husband and I chose were wooden magnets, our Change The Dates (we had to postpone due to COVID) were cards that featured one of our engagement photos, and our invitations incorporated our wedding colors. Our website had similar colors and a similar theme to our invitations, though the design was a little different. Choose the designs you like best, regardless of if they match your other stationery or not.

We didn’t have matching anything. If anyone noticed, they didn’t mention it. In our social circles and families, save the dates are given over the phone or by word of mouth in person. The information doesn’t get lost in the mail or spam folders. Our thank you cards we wanted to send immediately so it didn’t make sense to wait months for the photographer so we bought blank packs at Target and hand wrote them over a couple nights while watching Netflix. It went by very quickly and smoothly.

Save the dates don't have to match the invitation of the website, but I do advise that the theme is cohesive.

For example: My wedding was in the desert.

Save-the-Dates: A magnet with a photograph of the regional desert landscape with a font that was one of the main metallic colors incorporated into our wedding.

Invitations: Laser-cut paper with cacti, and water color desert landscape with cacti.

Website: Cacti that resembled the laser-cut cacti from the invitation, and had colors of our wedding theme, including the same color font from our save-the-date.

They do not have to match or have any “theme.” If there is one it does not have to be consistent. Our invitations were understated in the traditional format. There was no connection to the look of the save the dates.
