What did you walk down the aisle to?

Kayla, on June 11, 2018 at 9:10 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 12
I need ideas for songs to walk down to the aisle to. It needs to be a recording as I won’t have any musicians playing, just a dj. I only want instrumental music, no singing. I prefer violin/cello covers of songs. Please nothing from the Twilight movies! I love A Thousand Years but it’s been done so many times already. I was planning on have my bridesmaids walk out to the same song as me. I really can’t fugure out the best way to play a song for them and then a new one for me without making the guests wait or have an awkward pause in between. My wedding is in 19 days so any suggestions would be appreciated!

A Better Place by Rachel Platten was mine. Played by a stringed trio. It was perfect for me. I had my bridesmaids walk down to Marry Me by Train also played by the trio.

I have not decided on this at all either! However, I do think if you want to do two separate songs, a short pause isn't awkward, just builds the suspense of the bride a little bit more! Was at a wedding this past Saturday that did exactly this, (with the violin instrumental recording) and it did not feel weird at all as a guest!

    Some Ideas

Vitamin String Quartet has GREAT covers to some pretty songs that songs below are their covers

    1. At Last (Originally by Etta James)

    2. Somewhere Only We Know (Originally by Keane)

    3. Can't Help Falling In Love (Originally by Elvis)

    4. Just The Way You Are (Originally by Bruno Mars)

I’m having my wedding party walk out to thinking out loud by Daniel Jang. It’s a violi/piano cover and I absolutely love it!

As for me, I’m walking down to a violin cover of beauty and the beast 😊

I walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds.

I'm walking down the aisle to the instrumental to version of "Keeper of the stars" by Tracey Byrd. My great friend is actually playing this on the piano for us!

Later, that'll be the last dance song at our reception to the original version.

So the idea is, it'll be the first song FH sees me to and the last song we dance to at the wedding.

The pause is usually sort of natural as you typically have everyone stand when the bride walks down anyway. Either way, it'll be beautiful!

I'm thinking of my bridal party walking down to instrumental Here Comes the Sun and I will walk down to instrumental Can you Feel the Love Tonight. YouTube any songs you like/are considering and they probably have many versions so hopefully you can find a violin/cello cover of a favorite song. I was originally thinking Somewhere Over the Rainbow the Hawaiian version by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole but my FSIL walked down to that at her wedding in December so I wanted something else lol

I struggled with this one also. My parents wanted the traditional instrumental wedding march but I don’t care for that. After a lot of back and forth considering “ I get to love you and I choose you” I ended up with Cannon in D.

Thank you all for your help and ideas!

I know a song I’d love to walk down the aisle to but I haven’t been able to find the right instrumental version. “Why I love you” by MAJOR. I want to find a violin or cello cover that sounds professional enough to play. I’ve found some on YouTube but the quality isn’t very good. If anyone knows of a version please let me know!

At this point, I'm pretty settled on walking to a version of "Han and the Princess" from Star Wars.

What I'd recommend is to start looking up instrumentals and covers of songs you like. Looking into groups like the vitamin string quartet or even just finding cover artists on youtube can be a good way to start. Sometimes hearing a familiar song a different way can help you find something you like!

I don't know the exact song I will be walking into but before me, probably when FH/Groomsmen/bridesmaid walk in, the Jurassic Park theme song is going to be hopefully played. We have a duo violinist and guitarist I am in the works with them to see what songs they generally play and to see if they can play that.
