I’m getting married in Lake Tahoe next year and I saw this at one of the venues. What do we think about this decor? Thanks!

    Oh that is gorgeous!

What do they allow and offer? What is the price and hours?

I know where that venue is! My only dislike about the "package" type decors is that they reuse them for every wedding they do. Which there's nothing inherently bad about it if you like the look. South Lake Tahoe has a lot of options. I personally love the venues that are on hills and you can see the lake in the background instead of on the ground. Traffic is really bad in that area and it's always crawling with people down by the beach areas.

Where is it? I’m trying to figure it out. Is this an expensive venue do you know?

Somebody here on WeddingWire just recently posted this picture (like in the last week or two); I think it was their venue as well. Hopefully they see this and can answer everyone’s questions!

I am almost positive this is the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe resort. I think the decor is very classic and timeless!

I found it! Yes, it IS The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe resort. I will attach a link to their website, as well as their most recent wedding pricing.

Wow thank you so much! I’m very unfamiliar with weddings. Is that normal? Higher side? Cheaper? Not just Lake Tahoe, I guess in general with wedding costs.

While wedding planning, I have learned that price is heavily affected by location. The exact same item can cost literally four times more when purchased in one area vs another. It’s crazy! Searching ”average cost of Lake Tahoe weddings”, it appears this is at the lower- mid range of venues in this area.

I just got off the phone with them & minimum for my amount of people I would want is 40,000 for food and beverage. Dang. Lol I didn’t realize weddings were so expensive.

They certainly can be! I suffered from severe sticker shock when we first started planning! One thing that helped me a lot was sitting down with my fiancé and deciding on the top 3-5 things that were most import to us (for us it was venue, great food, open bar, and photography). We splurged on those items and found ways to save on some of the others. There are always ways to have the wedding of your dreams within your budget! Are you planning to hire a wedding planner? If so, they can provide lots of options for venues and vendors that fit your budget requirements (especially since a well-established wedding planner in the area will have worked with nearly every vendor and venue in the area and will be familiar with their work and prices).

Hi, I got married in Lake Tahoe last year. We had to scale way down because of Covid but FYI - it is a very expensive area, especially if you want to get married during high season in the summer. Let me know if you have any questions about the area and maybe I can help, but my recommendation would be to look at weekdays or Sundays and off-season if you want to get more bang for your buck.

Hi! Where did you get married at? Is the Hyatt where this wedding was, more expensive than others? I think this is in north shore. Thanks!

So we were originally going to get married at Westshore cafe on the west shore, but they stopped doing weddings for almost a year because of Covid so we had to change venues. That would have cost us close to $35k for 120 people in December.
We ended up getting married at the Landing Resort and Spa on the south shore.
I think the Hyatt is slightly more expensive, but definitely not the most expensive. Their ceremony and reception fee is very high, especially if you’re looking at the summer time so that makes it expensive.

I’ve heard the landing is super nice too, which might be a nice option. I see next summer the Hyatt is over 800 dollars a night and there’s barely any hotels around. So I feel like it’ll be hard for people to get to- but the Hyatt is really pretty.

I’m surprised it’s that expensive though, normally casinos are a little cheaper. You might be able to get a deal on room blocks. But yes there are very few hotels around, the north and west shores are a little bit more residential. South Lake Tahoe/Stateline will have a lot more hotels.
The Landing was fantastic, we had our ceremony and reception outdoors on their terrace and it was beautiful. It’s also easy to go down to the beach for pictures. Their rooms are expensive as well but you have more choices as there are a bunch of hotels around, and they gave us good deals on room blocks.

I think one of the cheapest if you still want to be on the lake was the Beach Retreat & Lodge. But I’d still be prepared for most places to be expensive in the summer, especially if you have a lot of guests

I love this but for 40k?? You’ll need to ask them if the decorations and set up is included in the cost. Or is that their vision but you’ll have to pay the vendors to recreate that.
How many guests are you expecting?

I highly recommend Lake of the Sky weddings. The officiant is all inclusive. She does flowers, cakes, officiates, and takes photos as well. There's add ons like limo service. If you're going to do a Tahoe wedding where you don't want to spend an arm and a leg that's probably your best bet. Tahoe is extremely expensive. Tack "wedding" onto it and well... She performed my ex husband's and my wedding in 2005 and I'm still impressed. We got married in Emerald Bay. There are few planners/ people out there that will make it truly inclusive of the important things like photography.
