What do your invites look like?

Jasmine, on October 23, 2020 at 2:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 17
I’m in the process of picking out our wedding invites and I have my heart set on deckled edge or acrylic. From what I’ve seen these styles can be pricey but we are sending out less than 50 invites. At the wedding I am planning on having acrylic signage, and my colors are slate blue, navy, cream, and eucalyptus green. Our save the dates will be a Polaroid style. Please share your wedding invites for inspiration! Or if you have any recommendations share that too!

We haven't chosen any invites for our March wedding yet, we are waiting a couple more months to see what will happen with COVID before we order ours. Have you not sent your save the dates out yet?

Our STDs and invites are a simple and modern black and white layout. No frills or details, just a white background with black lettering, but the font is what makes it special. I just ordered a templatte from etsy, and I'm printing them from vistaprint since the etsy shop had a coupon code for them. Our STDs are postcard style to save on envelopes, and our invites will be sent in envelopes!

Our invitations are a forest/starry night theme, and using one of our wedding colors! We found them on Etsy. We ordered them once, then postponed, but we plan to use the same ones for our new date. Our Save The Dates were wooden magnets, and our Change The Dates are paper cards that have one of our engagement pictures on them.

They came out beautiful, and I also didn't want to spend a ton of money on something that would end up in the trash.

We haven’t sent the save the dates out yet. We’re getting our engagement pictures taken on Monday and I’m hoping to have the save the dates sent out in 2 weeks. Do you think it’s too late to even bother?

These are beautiful! And I agree I don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that’s going to be thrown away.

Our STDs and Invitations were very simple -

STDs were postcard (a photograph of our wedding location at Sunrise) and our invitations were "Boarding Pass" like a ticket style (I work in travel industry, we're both avid travelers, and we were having a destination wedding) If you didn't know, the boarding pass was pre-printed, but matched our location and STD almost perfect, you would've thought the pictures were from the same location.

At the end of the day, we opted to save $$$ on our STDs / Invitation because these are only commemorative to us and our parents, our guests were only going to toss them in the trash at the end of the day. Why spend $100s on something that's garbage to someone else.

Oh okay. If you can send them out in a few weeks then I don't see a problem with it. But if you had to wait till December/January I personally would skip them.

We got acrylic invites. It's marble theme and we got matching marble save the dates from them as well.

These were mine. I got them from elegantweddinginvites.com when they were on sale. My entire experience was great! The only thing I will say is that you do have to put the invites together yourself; which isn't bad and it only took me, one of my sister-in-laws and my mother--in-law about 30-45 minutes to do all 60 that we sent out.

We did postcard and magnet STD’s that provided the link to our website to RSVP, once we realized most of our guest started to RSVP we did not send out invites. We sent a nice texted/emailed out to our guest to RSVP.

Which really worked in our favor as well; the day my guest started to receive their STD’s we found out we had to change our venue.
