What Do Your Ring Bearer/Flower Girl Signs Say?

Lisa, on March 19, 2021 at 10:56 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 19
Are your ring bearers and/or flower girls carrying signs down the aisle? If so, what do they say? If you have a picture of the sign, I'd love to see that too!

We're planning on two ring bearers and one flower girl, and having each ring bearer carry their own sign. We have some ideas for wording each one, but curious what everyone else is doing for signs for the ring bearers/flower girls to walk down the aisle with!

We’re not doing that but our venue has signage that we could have used. I seen “She’s almost here!”, “Uncle, your bride is beautiful!”

I've seen signs similar to those as well! Many of those turn out so cute. My fiance and I are walking down the aisle together, so he won't see them during the ceremony. We were looking for fun/humorous wording (such as, "We're all one step closer to dinner", or, "For once, she's on time!", or something along either of those lines), but can't seem to find more ideas that would work well for us. I've seen the "Ring Security" theme too for the ring bearer, but since my sister did that at her wedding, I'm hoping to find something different.

I've seen signs that say something like "I'm just here for the cake" 😂

😂 I've seen signs similar to those! I've also seen ones that said something along the lines of, "They didn't trust me with the rings!"

My son won't be our ringbearer but he will be carrying this sign before I walk down the aisle: *Mommy* instead of Mummy lol

That is a super cute sign! I love that it's acrylic instead of wood. Are you using the blush and gold colors? Or changing them to something else?

I will be using the blush & gold because it matches my colors. I love the acrylic too.

Hi Lisa! We're having a kid-free wedding but before making this decision, we bookmarked some web pages and photos of funny signs we found on amazon, etsy, target ... Of course: we bookmarked the "classic" I'm here for the cake, for once she's on time, ring security but also these:

My sister and BIL had 1 RB & 1 FG , the signs said "Don't worry ladies: I'm still signle" , for the FG: "Gentlemen: I'm available for a dance later" : So cute! 😃

I'm still undecided, I'm torn on whether to give her a sign to carry, or a basket of flower petals, or a small bouquet, etc. Still need to do some research on that, lol. Did you already decide what your flower girl is doing? I know you shared the inspiration image above, is that the sign that your flower girl will hold?

We keep going back-and-forth on a flower girl and a ring bearer. We decided not to have them .Our decision is not final, however: we're hosting a kid-free event.

When we bookmarked these pictures, I told my fiancee that my favorites were: "Ladies: I'm still single" and "please silence your phones & noisy candy wrappers" (I know my crowd on this one 😃).

Hers: "They didn't trust me with the rings" and : "Hurry up, I want to party!" .

If we're going with 1 RB and 1 FG, we're picking one of my favorites one of hers.

Totally get it! My fiance and I are hosting an adult only wedding as well, with the exception of the ring bearers and flower girl. One thing you could do (if you end up deciding you want a ring bearer and/or flower girl) is have them there for the ceremony and dinner, and then hire someone to watch them off-site for the rest of the reception. That way, you can still have a kid-free event for the most part. Otherwise, a ring bearer and flower girl definitely aren't required for a wedding, especially if you choose to not have them. I haven't seen the "please silence your phones and noisy candy wrappers" sign before - that is super fun and creative!

Thank you for these awesome pieces of advice!

We discussed flower girls & ring bearer a few days ago!

In fact, my FW now wants 2 flower girls but she doesn't care about the ring bearer anymore; since the best woman offered to carry her wedding band and the MOH offered to carry mine when we told them we wanted an adult only wedding.

I don't care about FG-RB, so the decision is up to her.

After opting for an adult only wedding, she thought other parents would be offended because "the FG are not our daughters, the RB isn't our boy". She thought it would be a poor etiquette, so did I. I'm glad to know that other couples are hosting a kid-free event with an exception for FG and RB.

She really wanted at least the flower girl(s) before making the kid-free decision.

"One thing you could do (if you end up deciding you want a ring bearer and/or flower girl) is have them there for the ceremony and dinner, and then hire someone to watch them off-site for the rest of the reception. That way, you can still have a kid-free event for the most part.": Great idea! Childcare is not an issue.FW wanted her cousin's daughters to be our flower girls (5 & 7) because they are very well behaved, quiet, they don't throw a fit,cry or scream for nothing, their parents are strict when it comes to discipline.

The parents accepted that their kids would be the flower girls under one condition: they love the idea of attending weddings and other parties without their daughters, so they required us to hire their "official" baby sitter for the after-dinner portion of the reception so they can relax, drink, dance, mingle with the guests.

I'm sure it will make her happy. Thanks!

    On amazon 🙂:

Now we're going with signs that are flower-girl friendly, we have to skip "ladies: I'm single". I really love "please silence your phones & candy wrappers" and my fiancee's favorite is: " they've promised me cake" since she can't pick her favorites "Hurry up, I want to party" and "they didn't trust me with the rings".

Amazon definitely has some good options for sometimes cheaper than Etsy! Thanks for sharing the info on where you found the sign! Bummer that you'll have to skip the one sign, but it sounds like you found some unique ideas for the others.
