I mean many cultures who participate in the money dance see that money as part of their gift to the bride and groom so when you say that the only time you open your wallet is to give a wedding present, this tradition can be seen as part of their gift.

Before WW, I had never heard of a consumption bar or a beer and wine bar! There was only dry, cash or open bars at any of the weddings I had ever been to.

Before WW I had never heard of:

Cake and punch reception

Money dance

That its rude to have a honeyfund and/or not have a registry

Any kind of 'fundraising' for the wedding beforehand (I can't remember what it's called but you have a party where people bring bottles of alcohol to supply for the wedding)

Things that I have heard of before WW but are uncommon where I live:

Cash bars

Dry weddings

No dancing

Cash bars lol


But seriously, my circle doesn't do the matching getting ready outfits for bridesmaids. I asked them if they wanted to and they told me they didnt even know what I was talking about.

We also don't do things like lingerie swaps, strippers, penis hats, or anything sex-related at the bachelorette. I've only ever seen that on TV
