What food for bridal shower?

Emma, on June 4, 2020 at 1:58 PM Posted in Parties and Events 1 15
MOH is asking what food I want at my bridal shower. It’s going to be at 1:30 august 1st. I figure since it’s at 1:30 we could do appetizers/finger food instead of a full lunch? What type of food would you as a guest want? The only thing I know for sure is a fruit salad

Will there be a theme? if there is a theme then the food could coincide with that.

my bridal shower was an afternoon tea theme and we had finger sandwiches, lots of little desserts, fruit platter, etc.

You could do sandwich platters with appetizers. Just something simple and easy.

We had a sandwich tray from a local deli, as well as a cheese and cracker platter and a fruit platter. There were cookies brownies and such for dessert.

I was thinking of utilizing my parents pool and doing something tropical themed. My parents have a in ground salt water pool. Idk if that sounds tacky or not though.

I don't think it's tacky. It just may not be convenient to have a pool party bridal shower. I just imagine you trying to open all these presents while all wet and stuff. However, if you're not doing more of the traditional shower stuff, that might work.

My MOH and I have never been to a bridal shower. Is a theme the normal thing to do? Or is just doing a color scheme okay?

Color schemes fall into a theme. It's really about having some sense of cohesion with any decor and whatnot. Whether that's tied to a color palette or holiday or favorite book or whatever is up to the one hosting the event.

You can do a color scheme and that's fine too. doesn't need to be a theme

The theme doesn't normally extend to the food but it can. 1:30 is the tail end of lunch hours so people travelling may or may not have eaten before they head out. You can do anything you want really. Sandwiches or rollups from Costco, frozen appetizers from Costco that can be heated in the oven, have a local Mexican/Chinese restaurant cater. The sky is the limit based on your budget.

A pool party sounds fun! You can have the menu themed around that with Costco appetizers or a local Hawaiian restaurant catering.

Yes colors are considered a theme to keep everything coherent instead of randomly thrown together.

Really this time is open so you can do whatever you want! I love the fruit salad idea. If you're serving alcohol, just make sure you're also serving protein so you don't have anyone drinking on an empty/carb-only-filled stomach.

So I ended up changing my menu for my brunch shower due to covid so that everyone wasn’t touching the same food related items in a buffet line. We did all individually wrapped food set in a buffet line and it was a huge hit. Since yours is lunch time I’d totally recommend a lunchbox from places like Panera bread or chick fil a and then wrap it in a cute matching bow with a cute label tag. Sams is also really good option for buying prepackaged options. You can make it cute with how you arrange the table layout. What food for bridal shower? 1
