What has been the most stressful for you?

Cassi, on July 8, 2019 at 4:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 43

I'm curious what has been the most stressful for everyone?

We did a lot of DIY to save on money and what not and we are coming down to the wire (3 months out) and still owe about 5k (actually a little less because our parents are both chipping in a little) so closer to 3k but it has been stressful. WELL I just got a raise today! which added 6k a year to my salary (which isnt a lot in the short run but i will definitely take that)! That was such a huge blessing and has definitely made me feel better about these last few financial areas!

Now my big stress is arranging everything (set up) and coordinating with vendors on timelines so everything goes on a decent schedule. I wish I hired a coordinator but definitely wasn't in the budget. lol

Congratulations on the raise!!!! I think for me, the most stressful thing has been trying to stay in our baby budget but still accomplish my vision for our wedding. It's been tough!

    Congratulations on the raise!

So far it's been vendors not answering or not following through with what they promised. I feel like one works whenever she feels like it because it's hard to track her down.

The biggest stress for me has probably been sticker shock. All the little details add up so quickly!

Unfortunately my biggest stress has been my mother. Thankfully she hasn't been demanding or opinionated... but the complete opposite. It really feels like she could care less about the wedding or details. Not saying she isn't happy for us, but just more into herself..

Congrats on the raise! Such good timing! The most stressful thing to me has been tuxedo shopping. We had an awful consultant but ultimately agreed on them, and now the 2 groomswomen have said they don’t want to wear the jacket, only the vest, which I’m totally against. If they bring it up again, I’m going to let them know the options are jackets or dresses to match the bridesmaids

Girl!!!! Ain't that the truth! I knew there were going to be big ticket items but man even all my DIY stuff (even saving money making them DIY it still adds up) adds up quick! Centerpieces (I did all fake flowers) added up so quick! definitely didn't expect to spend as much as I did on centerpieces lol

I agree about the little things adding up. You always think about the big things, but it's amazing how much you need to spend on things you never planned on or gave too much thought to. My poor credit card is burning!, which is stressful! The finances are definitely stressing me out for sure! That, and the weather forecast for our outdoor ceremony Smiley surprise

    Congrats on your raise!

Congratulations on the raise! The most stressful part to me has definitely been budget. I'm a frugal person, so I absolutely didn't agree with spending $10k on a wedding when we first started. We have the money for it but I would just rather it go to more practical things like our house or vacations. Basically I've just had to come to terms with it. After this year is over, I won't even have to think about all the money I spent on the wedding anymore haha.

Congrats! Sometimes even a little raise can be a big boost! Especially with a wedding!

    Biggest stressors:
First, suits. OMG. So the boy kept saying he wanted to wear green, but like a joke, except it turned out he really did want to wear green.. like a whole suit of green... but didn’t know really what shade. I kept asking him to give me pictures of what he DID want because he didn’t like any of the suggestions I made, but then he wouldn’t even look! 5 weeks out and we only just got the boys sorted!

Second, RSVPs. I set my RSVP date based on when our venue needed food counts and all the advice I’ve read here about how much time you really need. So I made our RSVP date July 9 (1 months before). Well I found out after invites were ready the stylist wanted the seating plan by the 7th! I’d told myself I was going to be supper chill, wouldn’t care if RSVPs were late because there’s “plenty of time” and I’ve turned into one of those brides asking myself if I can start following up a week before they’re due 😂

Congratulations on the raise! I know that must be comforting, or at least it would be for me!
The most stressful thing for me has been trying to figure out how to get everything done the day before/day of by myself. Im sure my maid and matron would help out, but I really hate asking them to di anything extra. My other bridesmaids are 7 and 12, so not a ton of help there, but still some.
Ive also been stressed about my wedding day jewelry. Ive literally lost count of how many sets ive purchased and either returned or sold on Ebay. I know this one probably sounds silly but I have spent countless hours trying to pick the right jewelry.

The most stressful thing for me was calling my biological father to tell him he wasn't invited to the wedding. Not a great phone call

I think what got me stressed most was figuring out logistics to things. My venue wasn't super flexible as I'd have liked.
    Congrats on your raise

Congratulations on the raise! $6,000 a year will definitely help with expenses. Smiley smile I haven't been stressed at all with wedding planning lately, but at the beginning, I was stressing about finding a venue. Pretty much everything in our area was either too expensive, too small for the number of guests we're inviting, or didn't have everything inside (since our wedding is in Feb). We found a venue that's perfect for us about 10 minutes away from FH's hometown (an hour and a half from where we live and 2 1/2 hours from my hometown)!

FH was a little stressed in May when he paid for the condo for the honeymoon since he had just made a few other large purchases around the same time. His parents are now paying him back for it since my parents have covered most of the wedding! That was a blessing! We'll only have to pay for food and excursions!
