I had a minor freak out moment in the beginning where I felt overwhelmed with trying to decide on vendors (hair and makeup, photographer, DJ) b/c our budget was slashed in half. But after I calmed down (i.e. created a spreadsheet and pinged ten vendors in each category) it's all been pretty easy since then.

That said, I think the hardest thing is staying in budget - I feel like the moment you say "wedding" they triple the price. I also think "Chicago" doubles all prices too. Hah.

I honestly have not found any headaches with the planning except just trying to please everyone. I let that bother me for a couple days, then just said screw it. We got engaged October 20 and have the venue, catering, photography, cake, flowers,DJ, and wedding gown all done. I think most people make it a bigger ordeal than it needs to be. My Fiance and I are very simple, and we just pick something and roll with it. We have a mountain outdoor venue and our parents are letting us do whatever we want without being too pushy and opinionated. My advice: Listen to others advice, but do exactly what you wanted to do. HAPPY PLANNING!!

Planning from a distance has definitely been a pretty big headache. Finding vendors without meeting them first is scary!
Also...I love them to death but my parents have been making me crazy too. My dad spent 20 minutes harping on about needing more rooms in our room block and how we need to threaten to walk away if they don't want to give us more rooms bc we've only paid the deposit there and yada yada yada. Even after I said I would email the coordinator at the hotel he went on more. Ugh

The biggest headache for me has been dealing with family dynamics. My family has some baggage surrounding weddings (almost no one attended my sibling’s wedding because they uninvited our parents.) I feel a lot of pressure to be the peacemaker and for there to be no tension surrounding the wedding.

Flowers were my worst enemies. Everything was just so expensive and out of reach. I kept going smaller and smaller to fit a decent budget but was not happy. Finally I found a florist with a small shop in Los Angeles who offered amazing prices and services so far. I swear I just stopped looking at it all together but I am glad that I found one that worked.

The biggest headache for me right now is finding a venue. It seems that everything in nyc is expensive. I feel like I’m going to go above my budget.

The venue! Being really specific for a venue makes it hard to find

Hey, i dont know what your menu is but have you looked into cheaper food options.... some that we considered were a pasta bar, burger station, taco bar... the pasta was the lowest across different caterers....

Oh no!! The budget is definitely a headache for a lot of couples out there, just because weddings can be so expensive! What area are you getting married?

2" is such a hard height to find, idk why! Where have you checked out so far for them? I would suggest maybe looking online, somewhere like Amazon might have them! Oh wow two different cities, that can definitely be a challenge when it comes to linking up on planning!

So far my biggest planning headache has come from my now former photographer. We unfortunately picked a photographer that turned out to be unreliable, untrustworthy and impossible to reach. Of course we didn't find that out until after we signed a contract and paid our deposit. We are still in the process of terminating that contract and it is a continuous headache that does not seem to end due to their complete lack of communication and professionalism. Thankfully we just signed and did our engagement shoot with our new photographer and he turned out to be awesome! Everything happens for a reason I suppose.

Definitely the guest list! Though we've decided on about 30 ish guests, we KNOW we're going to get backlash for this. Oh well!

I would say my biggest wedding headache was the wedding party well the groomsmen. At first I didn’t want a wedding party but my FH wanted like 3 groomsmen so I had to get bridesmaids so I did and ended up with 4 bridesmaids. Getting close to the wedding we only ended up with 1 groomsman/best man. The bridesmaids will just have to walk down the aisle by themselves which is fine but this could of been avoided lol
