Every family and social circle has their own traditions and customs that are foreign to their next door neighbor or a friend or stranger. What ideas/trends/traditions are unheard of in your family/social circle that are commonplace on WW? Or vice versa: what are you (and your family/friends) used to...

Or vice versa: what are you (and your family/friends) used to that everyone else here is unfamiliar with?

    The Jack and jill thing
Bridal party proposalsGifts for everyone.. bridal party, groom, in laws (when does it end?!!)Signature drinksPeople still doing registries as a gift option (yes we have them but wishing wells are way more common and IMO easier on guests)Cake and punch weddingsBoudoir photo shoots The expectation to get engagement photos done (I guess people do it here but the idea never crossed my mind?)Day of coordinators (again I guess we have that here but I was ignorant to it being ‘a thing’ most people have)Bridal subscription boxes

New one I just read about today: covering the price of your meal as a guest or don't attend. That makes zero sense because guests are not footing the bill per person of their food and drinks, and the couple certainly is not sharing that information. What happened to just buying a gift you can afford and go have fun and celebrate the couple's happiness?

Honestly... the amount of people who make themselves miserable to try to please other people or in pursuit of this lofty Pinterest idea of what they think a wedding needs to look or be like. I am so grateful for my chill family who certainly hold their own opinions, but are wise and kind enough to keep them far away from me, especially when I'm footing the bill. The amount of unnecessary stress on this forum makes me sad.

I have to agree. The only requirements are your fiance, an officiant, a couple legal witnesses, the marriage license and a reception within your budget the same day for all those invited to the ceremony where guests are not asked to open their wallets. The rest is 100% optional and will not be missed if you don't have it.
