Physical gift. If I know you enough to be invited and attend your wedding, I better be able to buy you a personal present.

Money for the wedding, almost always in the form of a check, so I don't have to worry about it getting lost/stolen.

Always a check* and I usually like to get them a nice personalized picture frame. Just a little something 'extra' that I know they'll appreciate and use.

*Cash can be stolen and carrying around then depositing a large amount of cash is a pain. Checks are much easier and safer.

I usually give a registry gift or other physical item. I don't give cash gifts laterally, meaning my friends and contemporaries generally don't give each other money . If it's a younger niece or something I might give cash if there's not an appropriate registry gift or as an addition to a small gift.

Oooooooh! The Tiffany flutes are an awesome gift! I had a friend whose standard wedding gift (for people who celebrate Christmas) was the Waterford Christmas tree topper.... I was so bummed I hadn't know her before I got married! Smiley winking

I shop solely off of the registry for a shower - I do not buy similar, non-registry items. For the wedding I always give a card with cash inside with crisp bills!

Bridal shower - I always buy something off the registry. For the actual wedding, I will usually give cash. Never buy anything off the registry.

For showers I either buy from the registry or buy something unique I absolutely know they’ll enjoy. For weddings we always give cash in the form of a check.

If they have a registry I will send a gift from that to their home before the wedding. If they dont then they get a card with cash at the wedding.

When we go to weddings, we always give a card with check or cash inside. When we go to bridal shower, we give a physical gift from the registry.

For a bridal shower it would be a physical gift. And for a wedding gift either a check or cash.
