It can depend on a variety of things. Location is one main factor, as well as how fancy the place is, how many people it holds and how much they provide.

It mostly depends on location and how fancy it is. Some venues are less than others.

It is so variable, about all you can do is to try to compare it with other venues in your area. And when doing so, you have to try to make some guesses about the costs of other things. For example, if one venue includes the catering and one does not, the second should obviously be enough less expensive to take account of the cost of getting an outside caterer.

Yes, it's like trying to put a bunch of puzzle pieces together. Fortunately, other decisions tend to be a lot easier once you've figured out the venue.

I want a buffet at the wedding. Since I am Bosnian I was thinking about just doing our traditional food instead of whatever is on their menu. Plus the food they serve at weddings never fill me up. For some reason I always leave home starving and I don't want that to be the case at my wedding.

i just want something spacious, I also would love ceiling decor.

You most likely will have to purchase your own table decor. Very few venues include centerpieces in their packages, but if your venue does they will spell that out very clearly as it would be a HUGE selling point for them.

Look around at other venues in your area to compare pricing. It's all relative. A wedding in Southern California or in the heart of Boston will cost a lot more than a wedding at a similar venue in other parts of the country.

Saimira, if you are looking to choose the food at your wedding that specifically, you will probably be better off finding a venue that will allow you to bring your own catering. Most other venues will have a set menu for you to choose from and I'm sure "Bosnian" will not be an option. Where are you located? There may be some ladies on here able to help you find a venue that will allow you to bring your own food.

OK, mine was much smaller and only 4 hours - small enough that I got the "special occasion" rate instead of wedding rate...so, not sure my input on price would be helpful.

However, don't get too stressed over planning. Just remember to take deep breaths every so often, and if you get too stressed take some time off from searching.

If you think it's too high, I'd look at other places and see how they compare price wise. If it's definitely not in your budget, I'd just skip it over.

In the end, you will have a wonderful ceremony and be married to the person you love! As long as that happens, that's all you really need Smiley smile

Ha, thanks ladies. You are a big help!

Well this is the deal. I am a college student with loans up the a**

I am trying everything possible to not ask my parents for money because I want to prove to them that I am responsible and can think for myself.

I am not sure what is out there, that is why I need help.

My fiance and I just recently decided on our wedding date and I might be rushing it right now being that I do have another full year but I just want to get a feel for what is out there.

I am not looking for anything super fancy. I want a simple space where everyone can feel free to get up and grab a drink or get a snack when they feel the need to. I don't want my guests to feel restricted.

I realize that I will need to provide my decorations and everything that is why I am looking at everything so early. With having to buy a house as well as pay for the wedding I thought it would be easier to buy a couple things now and a few things later that way my bills don't skyrocket.

Don't stress out - yet. Wedding planning is a process. Explore the options but don't commit to anything yet. I chose a venue that looked more expensive because it needed very little additional decor. Investing into food and drinks made more sense to me than investing into decor.

Set up a few appointments and go see different spaces. But to go back to your original question, it's like asking how much a house is :-) There really is not answer to it. But welcome and congrats!

In my area a general average is a minimum of $**** with a venues that supply food, staff, tables, and chairs. Many venues will have a minimum amount you have to spend. If you dont have a guest count to reach a minimum most will upgrade the bar or dinner entrees/appetizers to reach the minimum.

This is for an average venue, nothing spectacular but nice, clean, etc.

    Hello Everyone,

She lives in Florida. As for price location and size is the key. Also your vision. For my wedding on Long Island NY it will be around $12K for 150 guest at $90pp. My cousin had the same amount of guest for $5k in Kansas City, MO. But mine RH is inclusive. While my cousin had to rent everything from table on up.... Also buffet is acceptable in Kansas City where on Long Island it's not. There is so much in play with also... The time of day, the time of year, etc.... So you can negotiate with your vendors.... and DYI something also.... It's way too early to freak out... just do more research and you never know. I thought my FH and I would be stuck with the bill but surprisingly my father in law offered to pay for half of everything and my mom is paying for alot of little things too that can add up...

    Just my two sense

Really depends on all the factors the ladies provided above...we are ending up paying about $170 per person, all inclusive (cocktail hour, food, cake and such, alcohol)

On a separate note @amy v what happened to FH in ur pic?

My venue fee was $**** (depends on how many people book their rooms there). I saw everywhere from $200- $15000!! for the rental. Every place is different, some offer more with the rental fee, others charge separately for everything. Once you say wedding, they double the price at most places too. You can always talk to the owner to see if they are flexible on prices. Some are, especially if they have no one booked on your date. Also, weekdays, fridays and sundays are cheaper rental fees.

Salmira, if Sarasota is not too far, check out South Gate Center. Fee includes 8' banquet tables, chairs, use of kitchen (bring in your own caterer). Limit 136 people.
