What is an average price for invites?

nikki , on March 21, 2011 at 10:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

I am a bit confused as to how much I should be paying for invites. I am probably going to need around 120 invites - the girl I met with is going to charge me anywhere from $2.88 per invite to $4 per invite depending upon which layout I choose & I have to assemble them myself. It still doesn't include the option of her printing the envelope with the address. Is this average? What are you paying?

We paid $170.00 for invite, RSVP card, envelopes, and one small insert. They are simple but I love them. We got 150.

It really just depends on where you get them. I'm going with one of 3 sites (not sure yet) either zazzle.com ( a simple design I uploaded myself), vistaprint.com, or 123print.com. For all the invites, response, reception, and menu cards, oh and shipping I will be spending under $150.

    I've seen prices from $150 - $300 just for 25 invites.

There really isn't an average cost. It is dependent on the type of printing, and the style of invitation you choose. If it has lots of folds or embellishment, it will cost more than a simple flat card. Digital printing is the most cost-effective. If you need assistance narrowing down your choices by budget, style, or theme, I recommend finding a dealer or consultant to assist you. Our average price for our digital products is $1 - $2 per set. (Set includes invitation, blank envelope and at least one insert card.) The average Carlson Craft (letterpress or raised ink) can cost between $3 and $6 per invitation.

It totally depends on what you are looking for, the style and what is included (RSVP cards, direction cards, Reception cards, printed return addresses).

We went with www.weddingpaperdivas.com and loved them, but things did add up.

I'm doing my own invites and so far I've calculated that I won't be paying more than $100. It's a simple design and I'm cutting the paper myself.. With most DIY invites (the kind that come in a box and require printing and assembly) you can usually find them for around $.80-$1.60 per invite (that's like a box of 25 or 50 for $40) and some of them can be pretty nice and you can usually get them on sale or with a coupon.

With ordered/printed cards, the cost goes up..

It depends on where you want to order the invites, how many, the style, etc. I ordered mine from a retailer located near my house. I was able to get 130 invites and response cards for $150.00. I made my own insert cards from business cards that I printed off of my computer. Definitely check out sites like vistaprint and 123print. They have some pretty awesome choices at great prices!

It all depends on what you are looking for and what inserts you need. If vista print would have had my theme I would have ordered from them.I wanted the person that did my SDT's to do my invites which would have been a little cheaper so she wasn't responding to my emails that I started sending back in December about doing my invites. So I had to go a different route last minute. Then of course after we ordered she then emails me. I just told her we had to make other arrangements bc she wasn't responding to my emails. We paid $300 for 50 trifold invites which of course included the invite , rsvp card, lined invite envelops, and envelops with return address with thermography print for invites and rsvp.I ordered them from Birchcraft. I also wanted something that wasn't going to cost a lot to mail. So you pay for what you get just like everything else! Goodluck!

I paid $70 for 75 pocket fold invites. I printed the return address on the main envelope and the address on the reply envelopes myself on my printer. I purchased the invites as kits from AC Moore and then had them printed at Office Max. I used coupons for both.

It is hard to give an average price. From what I've learned it varies so much.

Prices vary wildly depending on cardstock, edging, lining, font colors, and how they are made (letterpress, thermography etc).

we have found ones we love anywhere from $600 - $1800 for the same number of invitations - - also, it depends on what types of enclosures go with your event... for example, we do not need a map / directions card as our ceremony and reception are at the same venue . .

i went with weddingpaperdivas for our save the dates - and we were blown away. they are gorgeous and their customer service is phenomenal.... our save the dates were about $400 for 125 . . . we also had envelopes, return address printed etc etc.

For 105, we paid $606 including thick/luxurious looking champagne shimmer inner envelopes, direction cards, RSVP cards, and return address printing on RSVP envelopes and outer inv. envelopes. This was via weddingpaperdivas.com. I used a 20% off coupon code and bought them during a promotion. Super fast delivery and I loved them.

I spent less than $2.00each at vistaprint, included RSVPs, envelopes, sticker seals and return address stickers. Price for 80 was less than $150. I did "splurge" a bit on my STD magnets. $130 for 75.

My sister got nice invites for about $150, including invites, dinner reception cards, evening reception cards, two different RSVP cards, all inner, outer, and response envelopes, at www.budgetweddinginvitations.com, for 150 people.

I got somewhat fancier invites for $300 at American Wedding www.American wedding.com, for 100 people.

They will look like this, but the artist is drawing my lakeside scene from a photo I sent her that I took. I could cut the cost down by making an enclosure card myself? It would only be $300 then for the invites and the rsvp's.
