What is the appropriate amount of gifts for your registry?

What is the appropriate amount of gifts for your registry? Our wedding website is through ZOLA, and we have a registry through there, Target, and Crate&Barrel. We are also estimating around 170 guests attending!

I don't think there is a limited amount. I would say the most important thing is to have a wide variety of prices so that everyone can find something they can afford.

I would probably have 100-or-so gifts (keep in mind some things you'll request multiples of). The more important thing is to cover all of the prices ranges. Make sure you have a good amount that are under $100 and under $50.

I have items range from $20-$200/300, also includes honeymoon fund, surprisingly the 2 $200 items was bought quickly than some of the cheaper ones lol

I would say the most important thing is to have a range prices so guests have the option to pick a gift within their budget. I don't think the number of gifts is that important.

I think the rule of thumb is the Number of Guests X 3 minimum. So you would want 170 X 3 = around 510 options on your registry. Especially if you are having an Engagement Party or Wedding/Bridal Shower, because folks often buy off your registry multiple times. The cool thing about your registry that it is a living document, so you can add and take away gifts all the way up to your wedding if you want to! You also don't have to use traditional register sites, myregistry.com allows you to add from ANY SITE! So you can pick and choose from any online store, I believe it's like an online extension similar to Honey that is easy to use.

You will also want to make sure you have a wide arrange of prices. We are doing 1/3 of the registry less than $50 options, 1/3 of $50-$100, and 1/3 of $100+ options to make sure we cover everyone's budgets.

I would say the important thing is to have items in a wide range of prices. As things get bought up you can always add more later.

As others have mentioned, a range is prices is most important. You don’t have to have enough gifts on the registry for every guest to purchase one. But if you have a shower, it’s important to make sure there are more gifts available than shower guests.

We owned a home a couple years before our wedding so were pretty well set up, but had a few things worth updating, otherwise we didn’t need or want much. Our registry was mostly so that those coming to our shower had a list and that anyone coming to the wedding who didn’t want to give money had something to work with. So, we didn’t anywhere near accommodate our wedding guestlist with number of registry items , but I did check up on it after the shower to make sure there was still a selection of items in different price points in case anyone wanted to gift something from it for the wedding. Mostly, we got monetary gifts.
I wouldn’t add things for the sake of just trying to reach a certain number, but if there’s lots you want, feel free to keep adding! The upper limit on numbers would be when it starts to get overwhelming , when the list is too long guests might be put off from scrolling too much!

We had 100 guests and I believe I had around 120 items on our registry. They ranged in price from $10 - $400. Almost everything off of our registry was purchased. We also received gift cards and cash.

When we created our registry we didn't think I would be having a Bridal Shower, so we had to go back through after the shower to add more items in certain price points. Our original guest list was around 80, so we had about 110 gift options to start.

There's no limit. Anything you want in a variety of price ranges.
