What is the Average age of the Flower Girls?

Tamara, on February 9, 2012 at 9:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 23

I have only been to 5 weddings in my lifetime and each one of those weddings, the Flower Girls were between 2 & 5. Is a 7 year old to old?

A flower girl can be however old you wish. I have seen a bride that had a 15 year old as her flower girl. Tradition is that they are usually younger then 10 but do what you wish.

I don't know what the average is, but mine will be 6 and 8. Both girls are excited. Their older sister (will be 11) is a Jr. BM. I think 7 is fine.

Mine (will be) 5. I think 7 is a perfectly acceptable age! She's old enough to appreciate her role, and young enough to still be adorable!

Mine will be 6 and if her sister agrees to join her, she will be 7 (she doesnt want people looking at her!!) LOL Our rRng Bearer will also be 7, since he is the youngest boy in our family. I think they can be how ever old - as long as you want them to be part of your special day, it doesnt matter!

I've seen flower girls as young as two years old. Some of them are probably as old as about 10 years old I would guess.

My flower girl will have just turned 3. I've got her spoiled rotten and I'm sure she will do fine since both her parents are in the wedding!

I really want FH nephew as a ring bearer... but he will only be 15 months at the wedding. I'm not sure we will be able to convince him to walk in the direction we suggest =).

I'm still trying to decide if I want flower girls, if I do have them they will be 5 & 7.

I think 7 is a great age because they are still into disney, princesses and cute pouffy dresses but old enough to behave.

Our flower girl will be 3; if we can convince her sister to join her then we'll have one who is 4. Our ring bearer will be 7 1/2 (but big for his age, so most people will probably guess 9).
