My recommendation is going in and speaking to someone.

It really depends on you skin texture.

Are you using primer, if so which one?

    Are you dry, oily, combination?

    Undertone?

    Will it oxidize dramatically?

Its alot more than just a recommendation.

I agree with Cynthia. At a minimum, go into MAC or Sephora or whatever makeup counter and ask for a consult. Especially if you’re not a regular full face makeup wearer. They will be able to make better recommendations for you based on your skin type and tone. Usually, if you buy a product or pay a small fee, they will do a makeover or show you how to use your product. We went to the Sephora in Vegas one year, we bought one pair of fake eyelashes each, and we each got our eye makeup and eyelashes done. I think they charge $50 for a full face makeover.

Foundation is tricky because it depends a lot on your skin type. I have combination skin that gets very oily around my T-Zone and I use Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation.

Regardless of foundation type, Laura Mercier is the best setting powder I have ever used.

I agree with this, for me Clinique or Kat Von D have amazing foundations for my skin. As for setting powder I love Kat Von D and Milani but I also use a setting spray and primer when I do my foundation. That’s my face routine but there’s good chance it won’t work on your skin. Everyone’s skin is different and I also recommend going into Sephora (they can also color match so you find the exact shade of foundation for you!)

For photos I love Estée Lauder double wear foundation. It just gives a flawless finish everytime and looks great in photos. Tarte shape tape concealer works well under the eyes in photos as well. If you are more on the oily side I would suggest Laura mercier setting powder.. if you are dry stay away from that it will make you look cakey. The RCMA translucent powder is good and lightweight if you tend to have drier skin. For long lasting makeup the Urban Decay all nighter setting spray is amazing.

I’m going to echo that it depends on how your skin is. I have very good skin from everyone I’ve talked to- so I use maybelline’s new foundation that is full coverage....it’s called “super stay” I love it on my skin! But I also use maybelline’s master prime, which I think helps. As for setting spraying I haven’t found one but that Kat Von D setting spray is nice!

This depends sooooo much on your skin type.

Personally - I love the Dior Airflash Foundation, Este Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, and Charlotte Tilbury Powder. Dont forget a good setting spray! Urban Decay All Nighter is my go-to, but if you are oily I would suggest the Urban Decay De-slick

As others have said its going to vary. And what works for one person won't work for another. Personally, I'm a Mary Kay user so I'll be using their foundation primer (A must for all day!), medium coverage liquid foundation, set with mineral powder and topped with their finishing spray. But again..this same foundation would never work for my sister so it's hard to say for sure what would be best for you!

I have partially oily partially dry skin, so lasting makeup is a huge issue for me. After trying a ton of stuff I ran across an article that says Estée Lauder is the best. I tried my regular BlackUp primer withBobbi Brown concealer and the Estée Lauder double wear foundation and double wear powder. Then I work a twelve hour shift. I’m not joking, this is the best stuff I’ve ever used. Amazing coverage, no streaks, didn’t show my oiliness, and I DIDNT TOUCH IT UP ONCE. Well worth the price tag in my opinion.

It definitely depends on your skin. I have combination/oily skin and my favorite foundations are Make Up Forever Ultra HD and Too Faced Born This Way. For setting powder I use Airspun. Its super cheap and works just as well as more expensive brands. I also use the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting spray.

I’m obsessed with Fenti foundation. I never can find a match in most foundations and it goes on matte.

Is the foundation cakey? or does it give a natural look?
