What is the best Secrets Resort?

I don't have experience...yet, but some friends of ours have been to secrets and raved about them. They have visited several different ones. We booked Secrets Playa Mujueres in Mexico. It was just finished in November, so it's brand new and for 1st class flight it was a pretty good deal. Just about $4200 for two of us for Sun-Sun. However, I see your wedding is in April. If you are planning on going right after your wedding, IMO, you're really pushing it. We've been book since June and I still wasn't able to get the room I wanted. I wanted one more upgrade, but due to the limited number of them had to go with ocean view instead of ocean front. The resort we booked though did have a lot of deals to get people to book before it even opened, so I believe that's why rooms booked up so fast. However, I know with other resorts if you are looking to upgrade to honeymoon suites those do book up early. Good Luck! We looked at the Secrets in Jamaica too, but I didn't want to go there for our honeymoon. I'm pretty excited about the Secrets we booked!

Check out AAA, if you are a member. That's who I booked through. I know I could've booked through the website, etc (our vacation is actually through USAirways vacations) which I could've booked, but not having to deal with it was a nice perk. If not, look for an travel agent. They should NOT charge you. It's a free service to you and nice to know everything is taken care of. If something goes wrong close I just call my agent and she deals with it. Also being so close they may know of some good 'last minute' type booking deals.

We haven't been *yet*, but we are going to the Secrets Silversands in Riviera Maya for our honeymoon!! We are staying 8 days/7 nights in a swim-up suite in late July-early August. We're paying about $3,400 for the 2 of us (including non-stop flights, transfers to and from the airport, hotel room, taxes and gratuity).

There are multiple Secrets resorts in Mexico so we read a lot of different reviews and compared the resorts... we wanted a place that had great restaurants and bars. We picked the Silversands based on cost, and that it has lots of dining options: 7 restaurants plus a buffet, and 8 bars/lounges. Another nice thing about the Secrets resorts is you can go to the other ones, you just have to pay for the transfer. The cost will definitely vary between resorts and when you go. We will save $400 flying out on the Wednesday after our wedding instead of that Monday!

I would also DEFINITELY recommend using a travel agent!! There is no cost and our travel agent was really helpful in picking a resort and narrowing down our options for us. We booked our travel package through him and he also got us some extra perks... like a voucher for a private romantic dinner on the beach, and the travel agency will pay for a night at a hotel near the airport the night before we leave, and our shuttle to the airport!

We are getting married at Secrets The Vine Cancun. It is a beautiful resort! But then again they all look beautiful! Good luck on the hunt!

Ps: normally flights to Cancun are pretty cheap (so that's a plus)

Depending on your budget, and where you want to go, Mexico, Jamaica, Cabo etc,

would depend on what Secrets is right for you. The most beautiful beach is Secrets Maroma,

@anakay we are also go to silver strand end of July, make sure they out you down for the honeymoon package, there are a lot of extras you get at that resort for free, including a massage, breakfast in bed etc

I've stayed at the secrets in punta Cana Dominican Republic and it was superb. The staff was fun, drinks were awesome, pools and rooms off the hook, and dinners were top of the line. We went for a family friends wedding and always talk about going back! It was the most fun I've ever had at a resort!

Hey ladies!! Can anyone reccomed a great travel agent?

Secrets Huatulco is amazing! Went for our honeymoon and I couldn't have been happier with our choice! We could also visit the Dreams resort down the road for extra experiences with dining and beach. Every room there had an ocean view. The entertainment crew is awesome and so welcoming and really make you want to join the entertainment to get everything you can out of the experience. The town of Huatulco is so beautiful and CLEAN! The tour guides and tours are spectacular as well! You have probably already taken Your honeymoon but if you plan on anymore trips back to a secrets you'll have to check this out! Oh and it's is exclusively for adults only!
