What is the BEST wedding favor your ever received?

I've only been to a few weddings that even did favors, so I'm curious to hear what other people are giving out. I have received: a photo album, a shot glass, coasters, someone donated to charity in lieu...that is honestly all the favors I can remember. You guys?

Since our wedding is in Dec. and the day before the official day of Winter (if we stick with our original date, it will be the day of Winter) and we were thinking about doing a cute little mason jar of hot chocolate. It would be something we would make our own, kind of get a bunch of different hot chocolate and make our own mixture. I know his family is in LOVE with my own specialty Red Velvet Cupcakes so I was thinking about doing that as well. luckily our guest list is pretty small (48 people) so all I would have to do is make a double batch (I get 32 cupcakes, good size, from a single batch) FH's mom found out about the cupcakes and got SUPER excited about it. LOL

As far as wedding favors we've gotten, None... Yeah, we've never gotten a wedding favor. We've only been to 3 or 4 wedding though.

My favorite favors from recent weddings include a jar of jam (homemade by the bride's mother) and a glass coaster with a photo of the couple (complete with plumbers cracks-classic).

We are doing tree saplings (mostly firs) and attaching a tag that reads "Grow with Us". We only ordered 50 for our wedding of 150 because we understand that not everyone will take one. However, we have 3 acres to plant the leftovers.

Best one I remember is a wine stopper. I use it frequently.

I've been to a lot of weddings & the favors that stand out in my head are....a shot glass- we still use it when we have girls night in! And a wine cork. The rest don't stand out in my memory. We are giving hershy kisses in little boxes shaped like brides & grooms.

@Kimpy that's where people disagree on the charity favors. IMO it's kind of like showing up to a birthday party and wrapping up a letter that says, "Instead of giving you a birthday present I donated to this cause that's important to me." If donating to that cause makes YOU feel good, that's wonderful and I applaud you. It's just not a favor or a present to me, unless you know 100% that I care about and agree with that charity as much as you do. Not to mention, lots of people donate quietly every day. I just think it's weird to advertise it. But again that's just IMO. There are tons of threads on the charity favor debate if you use the search bar to your right.

I would happily eat a rice krispie treat. Smiley smile

My cousin did live plants in wine glasses that had their initials and date painted on them. They were BEAUTIFUL!! mine even stayed alive in the glass for MONTHS!! The only reason I don't have it any more is because mine broke in a moving incident.

They even gave the option for those who didn't want theirs to give them to her mother, she now has a whole garden full of wedding flowers Smiley smile

We're doing antique keys that are also bottle openers and keychairs. They are also their escort cards at the wedding!

My favorite is the candy and dessert bar, it was tasty and able to bring home afterwards. Also, it gets the guests mingling with each other. I saw this and thought it was a good example of a candy/dessert bar, you would have your catering company put out a few dessert choices along with 2-3 candy options. Great way to save and still make it fun.

The best favors were a piece of lenox from a 1st Communion, a mini bottle of wine & a mini box of Godivas. I prefer the unique edible favors or something I will actually use...bottle opener, book mark, wine stopper, but nothing personalized(accept a magnet). We did welcome bags, boxes of maple cream candy at the table & a candy/pastry buffet.

For Cates, we are doing oot bags(a touch of PA themed); boxes of amorini(Italian candy) at the table & packets of wild flower seeds as they leave. Since there is a dessert bar, she is having her cake cut & boxed for guests to go. In our culture, favors are huge.

Kris....The cookies look awesome. I am in agreement w/ the charity in lieu of thing. I don't believe in advertising anything I donate. I think its great to have a cause. If the couple is willing to have me write the check I was going to give to them to their favorite charity instead, I would be more than happy to. If the couple is going to be generous go all the way with it.
