I see a lot of people listing www.costofwedding.com as a resource; but honestly, our 100 guest wedding is coming in almost 1/2 that the site listed for our location?!?

Personally, I'd figure out what your budget is & then plan on spending around 50% on venue/food/bev.

Most budget checklists include the cost of rings. If you don't include those, we will end up at about $8000 for our wedding. Out guest list is 40-50, that includes everything. Buffet dinner, alcohol, dessert, our dream venue, our photog of choice, etc. But I'm not spending much on flowers and my dress was right at $400. That's in south Alabama. The cost of wedding website shows well over 10k for our area. I guess if you include rings, ours will be over that too though because our wedding bands are about 5k.

My 40-guest wedding is coming in at about 12k. However, we are going pretty formal and splurging on food and drinks. I live in a mid-sized suburban area.

We can't really answer that. You need to decide your budget. Some people budget $3,000 and some people budget $15,000+ for a 50 or so guest wedding. It depends on your venue, catering, booze, flowers, photographer, DJ, etc.

It depends on your budget and what you are willing to spend. There are venues that cost more there are venues that cost less. About 50% at least in our case is for photo, video, flowers, entertainment, hair and makeup, and limo. We are at about $55,000 for about 120 people. This is cost without bridal shower, dress, rings, or honeymoon. Our cost is average for NY, but again there are places that are cheaper and we did get a good price for our venue thanks to a family friend. So its a hard question to answer. Your best bet is to call around venues will give you pricing over the phone.

Our 45 guest wedding is going to cost us $10,000 including tax and tips and all that jazz, but excluding rings. This is Minneapolis.

Really going to depend, just for my venue and food, not including alcohol, for 50 people it was 9k, and that's in Washington state
