What Is The Hardest Part Of Wedding Planning

Mrs. Velez, on April 3, 2016 at 3:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 118

To me the hardest part and that is that I just started is choosing a venue. I emailed over 30 venues and saw 9 so far. Only 3 we really like. By next Saturday night we make our final decision for the venue. Here I thought the hardest part was to chose a wedding dress to make sure it's the perfect one and looking for the type of dress I wanted. Nope the venue is so far the hardest part.

So what is the hardest part of planning your wedding?

For me it's been picking our caterer! We know what we want and have it narrowed down to 2- but can't pull the trigger!

For me it has been budgeting. I have an ELABORATE spreadsheet and it still doesn't account for unexpected expenses that are increasingly creeping up the closer we get to the big day.

I really struggled with the caterer! We were down to two choices and my Mom wanted me to go one way and my FH and I wanted to go the other. She made a lot of nasty comments to other people right in front of me about it and I didn't really understand why. When I eventually started crying she calmed it down. :-P I was very glad when that decision was done!

Figuring out the day-of timeline was a lot more stressful than I thought it would be. Trying to coordinate logistics has never been my strong suit

Being patient while FH picked the set up of the guest tables and tablecloth colors. He's an artist. It took literally 6 months.

FH and I are eloping across the country in the mountains. The hardest thing about planning has been the 3 hour time difference...thank goodness for email. Besides that, the little details have been tricky...choosing a hair accessory, deciding what size of cake topper to order, finding heels that look good and fit well, and deciding what color suit FH should wear. I just overthink and I've had to remind myself that trivial things aren't worth obsessing over.

For me it has been sticking to the budget and the guest list (as in, keeping the guest list down!)

Definitely guest list. There are too many people on it and I don't know where to cut. There are people on there who definitely won't come, but I still have to send an invite. Ugh.

The unpleasant realization that so many people in your life are flakes without decency to do basic tasks like send in accurate rsvps that reflect their actual plans, or rsvp at all.

Patience has been hard for me. I tend to want to do all of things all at once but FH gets over whelmed so, for both of our sanity, we printed a timeline and are sticking to it.

I am still on the fence with guestlist. My mom came over and want to added 5 of her friends but my DF just told me he wants my cousins that live in Florida to come cause he got along with them when they came t visit. I started with seating chart last night just to get an idea and told my DF we can switch around when the date gets closer
