What is your favorite part of wedding planning?

Other than finding my dress, I’d say my favorite part of wedding planning so far has been coming up with the gifts for my bridesmaids and the MOH. And I really enjoyed all the DIY's project I had. I’d love to know what everyone else enjoyed the most and why?

Dress, bm dresses, venue, cake tasting, endless searches on etsy and Pinterest. It's all my favorite! I cannot pick anything specifically!

So far I have most enjoyed meeting with my florist for my flower consultation, shopping for my dress with my mom, and having a fine china consultation with my FH and my FMIL. Next I'm really looking forward to picking out invitations and doing a dessert table tasting!

I loved booking our honeymoon, but I'm also really excited for our engagement pics in a few weeks!

@GeekyBride- I feel like pulling out my planner just to look at it is exciting and don't get me started when I get to add more contracts, budgeting lists, and jotting down all our wedding related appts. in the calendar section. I call it my Master Piece because I started from scratch and I love it!

Besides that... I think of course ordering my dress was a great day, our venue find was also a great day, and when we finally locked in our officiant we had our eye on for awhile, but we couldn't coordinate schedules to meet face to face, which I prefer since we live 1.5 hours away from San Diego. So, when we met him we both loved him and booked him within 2 days! I am also having fun with my planner and florist (they done plenty of weddings together so they are both on each others preffered vendors list), the are doing unique florals for our kingstable and our sweetheart table as well (we didn't want a head table so our WP can sit with their dates for dinner, but since we have to fit 24 people there and that's 3 of the3 ft. long tables connected together. Anything bigger would have just been way to huge, so we opted for a Sweet heartable as well. I been having a blast working on the floral chandlier for the kingstable and our florals for the sweetheart table.

I think I am pretty much enjoying everything, except invites. I want my designer that is doing our STDs, to do our invites and day of stationary. Problem is she is a little pricey, but she does gorgeous work.

Here's an example of what our florals for the kingstable will look like except with different flowers and more flowers. Our sweet heart table florals and we already have our throne chair rented for our sweetheart table, which I pictured below seperatly, but I couldn't decide what I wanted to give up- a huge floral arrangement or the throne chair, so we decided to take the 2 inspirations and put them together. I am so excited! I can't wait to see how everything is going to come together! Can you tell I am way overboard on decor!?

Picking my favorite part is hard. I have loved so much of wedding planning, as it has been fairly stress-free so far. I have loved all of the sweet deals I have found for everything. And when a package I ordered comes in! I just get so excited!

FH is excited for the wedding, but all of the major decisions have him kind of overwhelmed. Whenever we need to decide on something, I narrow it down to 2 or 3 options and let him pick the final one. It's been so much fun because he loves that he's still 100% involved, but I'm not overwhelming him with stuff. It's been a lot of fun planning together and not disagreeing on anything! We're also extremely excited for the honeymoon!

    The end. lol

no, I really like planning, I'm just a listy, planny sort of person.

I liked dress shopping for me and the girls

    picking out gifts for everyone

    picking décor

diy projects (invitations, signs, centerpieces, etc)

    receiving rsvps

    etsy shopping

    finding sweet deals

    I didn't like having a budget lol

guest list drama (though we had very little)

being wedding poor for a year

finding a hair & makeup artist

All of the DIY, especially the flowers! It all makes me feel so crafty and when we did the flowers it was a whole day of drinking wine with my girls (the preggo one didn't drink obviously) and making bouquets and bouts then decorating the baby's room afterwards.

The most fun, for me, was the dress. I also enjoyed working with my husband on the plans. He was into it, but deferred to me. We were so similar in what we wanted. Also, since our one year anniversary is coming up soon, we were talking about the wedding and the planning and he said "There is not one thing that you were unreasonable about. You were amazing." I love him for noticing that. : )

@FutureMrsChang - your decor is going to be gorgeous!!! Although I am not usually a fan of chair covers, the lace is very attractive and complements the romantic tablescape. Thanks for sharing!

I think my favorite part was when my FW and I finally decided on what our vision for our day was. Our wedding is very low key and simple -- basically just the two of us with a few friends on the beach at sunset on our 25th anniversary as a couple. Once we had that figured out, the rest has been falling into place fairly easily.

My favorite part was looking for rings and booking the honeymoon. Looking for gifts 9which I am still doing) is the worst! Does that make me selfish? lol It's just that there are so many people to gift for and we don't have a lot of money. Smiley sad

This is a backward answer, but not letting two people add to the guest list, was, in looking back, one of my most favorite parts. Insert a big, evil grin into this.

    1. Entitled cousin, who had a childfree wedding a few years ago, wanted to bring her toddler (adult only wedding). She referred to him as the "little monster" in her e-mail and insisted it would be a great way for him to meet the family. SURE! I flipped out, as did my parents, who were hosting. She had already booked a room in the hotel block, without consulting us 1st. Of course, we said we couldn't make exceptions, or we'd have 25 kids, and a guest list 20 higher than the venue capacity.

    2. Narcissistic grandmother, who like to control things, sent two nasty e-mails demanding we invite a family of four distant/estranged relatives. (The kids wouldn't have been invited, regardless), but she wanted the excuse to see them. Grandmother's definition of a wedding = family reunion, and a "time for families". Of course, Grandma didn't contribute 1 cent. She didn't get her way, was grumpy the night of the wedding, and left early. Our relationship will never be the same.
