What is your wedding vibe?

Michelle, on February 6, 2022 at 3:10 PM Posted in Community Conversations 6 13
It can include theme/colors, etc. as those are all in the same umbrella. What is the overall feel that you hope to achieve? Full blown party, chill family reunion, formal dinner party, something else entirely?

Chill regular backyard party where everyone is dressed up. I 1000% see everyone drinking beer and singing Bon Jovi like we usually would at any party my parents have ever had in their backyard lol

Good question! We definitely are hoping for relaxed, FUN, beachy vibe with classy overtones. Since we are older, as most of our guest will be, I know there will be no drama! So few family left, and only the closest of friends invited.

Tropical glam is our vibe!! Orchids, monsters leaves, tall centerpieces at the round tables… I’m super excited. Add to it that we are turning it into a whole week with fam where other than the night before and after the wedding in the hotel both sides of the families will be in a huge Oceanside villa and going on adventures to El Yunque and Vieques

I guess we're going for a runaway love/night out on the town type of vibe. We both have a lot of family members who are extra cautious with COVID. So we are doing a private ceremony at a Vegas chapel that provides live streaming and zoom meeting. After the ceremony and pictures we are going to dinner with anyone who still decides to come then bar hopping on Fremont and the Strip. I was never one to want all eyes on me, so I knew I was going to be a uncomfortable as I walk down the aisle or for our first dance, especially since I can't dance. Having a planned elopement I get to make our day my way with more of us in mind. No rules, no extra cost to vendors or insurance, a smaller cost to food and drinks, and I still get to have a wedding party so we get to have bachelor/bachelorette party.

Relaxed backyard vibe ☺️ I want everyone to have fun and us as a couple to also be able to enjoy the wedding. Only 70 people invited. Deep sea is the main color the bridesmaids are wearing. The guys will just wear white button ups and khakis. My fiancé even wants to wear Birkenstocks 😂

That sounds amazing! I am also hoping even less people show up than were invited 😂 What are you doing for the dance floor? Or is it just grass? I debated a dance floor but my fiancé and I don’t know how to dance and I didn’t know if it would be expensive to figure out. We’re hoping to also have some fun yard games! I’m thinking corn hole and bocce and such. I’d love to hear if you’ve come up with or seen any creative ones! 😊

We're going for intimate garden party (~50 guests) turns into intimate party vibe Smiley tongue if that makes sense? Like, I think since there will be a lot of guests staying in town for the weekend and there will be some sharing of accommodation/casual meals together that some guests who've never met before might become fast friends. At least I hope! So hopefully when the reception has to shut down, we can still go to a bar or someone's hotel to have a good time after and make sure the trip was worth it for everybody to get some individual time with us. Smiley smile

Also, this is our general theme inspiration, and I love it!

We are going with a “vintage romance” theme but the vibe we’re working towards is more roaring 20s speakeasy than Downtown Abbey! Our reception venue is a brewery with a lot of vintage decor, reclaimed wood, and exposed brick

We are going for classic feel, while still prioritizing comfort. Our colors are dark navy blue and white and we are getting married on 2/22/22. The flowers are white roses, baby's breath, blue delphinium, blue thistle, and white snapdragon, with touches of rosemary and other greenery. Both the ceremony and reception will occur at the same location which is a historic venue with gorgeous wood details. Warm drinks (coffee, tea, hot cocoa) provided as well as an open bar. My dress is a sleeveless A-line with a tulle skirt and a mantilla veil. Long lace dress for the MoH. Groom and groomsmen will be in navy blue suits rather than tuxes. What is your wedding vibe? 7

Hi Grace - I ordered a small dance floor that will be set up on the lawn - my yard is extremely flat! I will have corn hole . large yard jenga, yard-zee and that is as far as we have for now. I am trying to convince FH this is the perfect time to get an air hockey table for our basement - since we will be using that space as well!I am just starting to look for the games - I will let you know if I find anything very unique.

Oh - as long as weather cooperates for yard games - I will have standing cocktail tables throughout the area so people can take their food with them (buffet)

My wedding vibe I'm going for is "urban garden party". I love that our venue is a rooftop space with tons of greenery (the garden part) while also being in the city (the urban part!).

Chic and modern, without feeling stuffy and pretentious is our end goal. I'm trying to balance out the more formal elements with fun and easy going ones too. Like our dinner will be a several course plated meal, but it will be a spin on southern classics my fiancé and I love, same for the passed hor d'oeuvres. Or the fact that our venue is an all white art gallery, but it also has exposed brick which gives it this great contrast.

I made this mood board, which has been super helpful. This pretty much, I think, captures the feel of our day:
