What kind of aisle runner

Latisha M (Latisha B), on September 22, 2011 at 11:48 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

Morning Ladies!

It's time for me to get started on my aisle runner project, but I need to know which fabric would be best. I'm looking for something that won't rip as easily with heels since everyone will walk on it. I've looked in Michael's and all I've seen is plastic which definitely won't with withstand. I'm looking online and I see descriptions like "poly" or "poly linen". Can you ladies help? What's the sturdier fabric for an aisle runner?

I saw a velvet runner very close to a carpet style at a friend's wedding, I'm using the same person she used because I too do not like those plastic or paper ones, I'd rather go without one before I use one of those. I'm not sure of the fabric's name but it was very close to an actual carpet, and it was personalized. It was very beautiful

My daughter is also using a "red carpet" runner. I think the plastic rip too easily. On the other hand, if your wedding party is small and your budget is small, go with the least expensive option. Have you considered asking your florist? At my first wedding, I bought a fabric runner from my florist because I needed cathedral length.

I am having a runner of leaves this time around.

Most runner companies use polyester fabric

I'll check with the florist. I don't want to use a carpet because I plan on painting our wedding logo on it. Thanks!

I made mine out of burlap, to go with my fall rustic theme. I bought 17 yards of burlap with a 40% off coupon at JoAnns, and hemmed one end, and made a casing for a dowel rod in the other end.
