I think it depends on your location in a beach I’d wear a nice float long dress, short float could work too. For a farm maybe a cute denim outfit, doesn’t necessarily have to be a dress. As long as it fits your style, there’s no such thing as wrong. My wedding theme is beauty and the beast. For our engagement shoot I’ll be wearing a long yellow dress and my fiancé will wear a blue suit or jeans and blue blazer.

You'll want something that you're comfortable in. I knew I wanted a couple looks - casual and formal - and knew we were taking pictures outdoors. We ended up using clothes we already had in our closet for the casual looks and I bought my outfit and his shirt for the formals. I got my body suit from a brick and mortar Express store and my skirt online through Amazon. Your first step will be to figure out what kind of "feel" you'll want...like Reeshma asked, where are you taking your pictures? Maybe we can help with outfit ideas.

I’m wearing my mom’s old wedding dress for our engagement shoot, but I’m lucky because my mom omitted the poofy sleeves and her wedding dress is something that could easily still be sold today. Do you think you’d wear something white?

I definitely think a long chiffon skirt and top would be gorgeous for a beach session. Or a long, flowing maxi dress. Farm wise, you could do denim and flannels, or even dress it up with the same look as I suggested for the beach. Just make sure you both mimic the formality of each other; you don't want to be dressed up and him in shorts and a t shirt or vice versa.

Wear what makes you comfortable! I also agree that a long, flowy dress would be great for the beach!

Something that flows well would be beautiful! We did two different outfits, one fancy and one more casual!
