    1. Location (it's overlooking the ocean from a cliff)
    2. Price. Was the only one in a 50 mile radius in my budget
    3. Includes chairs and tables, set up and clean up. I'm so lazy so having this taken care of is super nice.

    My list is very similar.

    1. Location: We wanted a venue that our New Jersey and Pennsylvania family and friends could get to easily.

    2. Price: Our venue had excellent packages that included an open bar, wedding cake, tables, chairs, table centers, etc.

    3. Food: Between the cocktail hour and dinner options we fell in love but the dessert room really sold us.

We had these fun facts behind the printed menus since I wanted to utilize all space. And one of the fun facts was why we chose these venues:

We chose these venues as a tribute to our love story: the ceremony venue was where we met at and the reception venue was where we had our early dates at.

    1. Sentimentality - it's the church FH and I met at

    2. Price - free!

    3. Size - large auditorium for ceremony and another large room for reception

    1. Scenery. It's in a secluded area of a quiet park. Tons of trees. There's a creek and gazebo. We wanted a view of the downtown arch but venues were hard to find and even harder with our budget.
    2. Indoor and outdoor space. Inside very much a blank canvas but 180° of windows to the outside and great deck. What isn't window is wood. It's called Quailridge Lodge for a reason. The ceiling has exposed metal air system so there is a touch of modern in there. Besides the huge deck there is another enormous patio with paved brick.
    3. Price and freedom. The price was fair and it's ours from 9am to 11pm. It only comes with tables and chairs. We do the rest. But we get the freedom to do whatever we want to with our wedding. We choose our catering, our timeline, even bring in our own alcohol. This is allowing us to save money and invite everyone we want. Kids can run outside and be kids. People can play horseshoes and cornhole while sipping on beer if they want. Albeit nicely dressed. And later that night we can all enjoy the view of local fireworks outside on our 4th of July wedding.

    1) The building. It’s a 1929 industrial building originally built as a film processing studio in the cool artsy district in our city. It’s brick and wood floors with open ceilings. 😍😍
    2) The Space/Rooms. It has 2 event floors (one for the ceremony, one for reception), a rooftop overlooking the city skyline (for the cocktail hour), and a 1920’s speakeasy lounge in the basement for the guys to get ready in before the wedding and it’s where we’ll host the after party. It also has a beautiful bridal suite.
    3) The overall flexibility of the whole venue. We have it from 10 am Saturday until 10 am Sunday and the only real decor rule is no drilling holes in the brick. We also get to choose all of our vendors and bring in our own alcohol. It’s also pet friendly!

It's all inclusive, in a great and easy to get to local area, and it needs minimal decor.

    1. The food was absolutely incredible

    2. The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception spaces were all different but equally beautiful. The ceremony took place under a huge oak tree strung with lanterns. The cocktail hour was on a rooftop terrace. And the reception was in a gorgeous open space with floor to ceiling windows and beautiful chandeliers.

    3. The fact that it was a hotel—since it was a destination wedding, I wanted one location for ceremony/reception, a place we and our friends and family could stay at and not have to worry about driving to/from and it was a turnkey opperation. I didn't want to find a blank canvas space and worry about coordinating linens, chairs, a caterer, etc.

OMG the staff of a venue can absolutely make or break your wedding day. I was blessed to have an awesome staff at my venue and although it was not something I had considered early on, I was super grateful for it.
