May 19, 2019! We originally wanted a fall wedding in 2019 because it's our favorite season and we started dating in the fall 4 years ago. But we didn't want a really long engagement (we got engaged on Valentine's Day this year). We just want to be married as soon as we can but still having enough time to plan a traditional wedding! I'm glad we moved it up to May because the flowers at our venue will be in bloom and the weather will be sunny! We aren't huge summer people but I think having an anniversary date so close to summer will make us enjoy it more

Good for you two! My fiance and I started dating in high school too! I don't think FH and I could wait 2 years like you guys but you totally have a point with what's a couple more years! At least with a long engagement, you have plenty of time to get your dream venue, save up money and plan it all without being too stressed!

View Quoted Comment Yes ! Everything happened all at once so we were forced so we could save up money. I graduated from grad school, a few weeks later we got engaged, started planning a wedding and we recently just bought a house! Lucky for us we waited two years or we would be broke !!!

Wow so many exciting things happening all at once! congrats congrats!! Yes, good thing because it would not be fun to try to plan a wedding with little money! FH and I are so blessed and our parents have given us money to work with, if they didn't we also would be doing a two-year engagement to save up! either that or we would just elope!

They are paying for the venue and band but I apparently have expensive taste and everything else is adding up more than I thought ! Lol. I thought about a destination wedding but my grandparents would not have been ok with that. My cousin is having one in spring 2019 and the family has made some comments

That's awesome news! Venues are the priciest thing usually! And weddings are pretty expensive so don't be hard on yourself I think I have expensive taste too! Yeah that's the one thing about destination weddings, someone somewhere won't be too happy with it. Which stinks because destination weddings are amazing and that doesn't mean you can't have a reception celebration with family and friends when you get back!

I am sooooooo looking forward to my cousins destination wedding. Its a huge vacation with the whole family going to be sooo much fun!
