What non-traditional items are on your registry?

Alicia, on February 18, 2019 at 4:14 PM Posted in Registry 0 29

Looking for some inspiration here. FH and I both live on our own (separately) so we have all the basics covered. I definitely need to do a registry because my guests will expect/want to have one. Those of you who are doing a registry, what are some of the non-traditional items you put on yours? Like things that wouldn't typically be included in the general "what to include on your registry" lists.

Costco membership, Hello Fresh gift card, a generator, a power washer, outdoor furniture we're some of ours. Memberships and subscriptions MAY put some off but we thought it was a great option when we didn't need any more household things.

For us, it was upgrades of sheets, pillows, towels, duvet cover, etc. We own our home & have lived together for almost 4 years. So 90% of our list are upgrades. Nicer mixer, nicer blender, nicer pot set, etc. I want everything to match & all be nice since we cook a lot, so I'll donate or sell our old items as we get new ones. Some unique ones include a travel bag for our dog, an automatic door for our chicken coop, a chicken swing, and some updates for our home including light fixtures, ceiling fans, faucets, and furniture.

We have that. There is a timed crock pot I want so bad. Then we can do two crock pot meals a week and eat left overs for lunches.

Awesome! Yeah we have a crock pot, but it isn't a digital timer one. We don't do them that often since they have to run 8 hours at most & I work 8 hours so I'm out of the house at least 9 or 10! My fiance closer to 10 or 12 since he's a CPA. We were gifted an instapot in December and are IN LOVE. Have you tried one of those instead? I've made a ton of big dinners after work super quick and taken them for lunches!

I have A paleo ranch we really like but it’s expansive so we never get to have it. That’s probably the oddest thing i have. My mom gave me so much crap for that one. Oh and crest whitening strips lol.

Ours are mostly upgrades! Sheets, towels, pots, pans, dinnerware and flatware, knife set, toaster, iron, barware, wine glasss, severware. I also registered for a nest and a ring door bell system.

If youre registry allows I totally recommend Cariloha sheets! They are expensive but AMAZING

We haven’t started the registry yet, but plan to include a honeymoon fund as well as a snowblower (we live in Tahoe). We’ll likely include an instapot and some upgrades in there too.

We did yard games, a surround sound system, cast iron skillet... I loved our Table In A Bag! Perfect for if you tailgate or ever go to the beach.

We have been together 10 years so we mostly did kitchen upgrades... I always wanted nice knives, an Air fryer, my FH wanted a $99 thermapen for checking meat temperature, we also registered for wedding frames. One thing I thought of that someone registered for is a Ring doorbell... I thought that was a pretty cool idea. We did some organizational items too. We registered for things we could really use.

We are considering: a generator, washer and dryer, organization stuff, and a contribution to honeymoon. We have too much stuff already.

In addition to home goods and kitchen upgrades, we registered at REI for camping gear! We’ve lived together for years, together for 10, so we didn’t need as many things for the house. We love the outdoors so thought it would be fun to go that route.

Organization stuff is a great idea! We're gonna live in my apartment for awhile after the wedding, so organization items would definitely help!

Those are all great ideas. My knives are pretty crappy, so I definitely like the idea of getting a really good set!

A poopouri automatic dispenser. 😂🤣😂 I love that stuff and it automatically dispenses when you wave your hand in front of it!

Sadly, we don't have a Costco in our area, but Hello Fresh is a great idea! Thanks!

I upgrades are going to be the route we go, as well. I could definitely use nicer towels and sheets!
