As I look online for inspiration for ceremony and reception decorations, I see all kinds of signs! Signs for unplugged ceremonies, ceremony welcome, guest book, dessert bar, signature drinks, and more! Are you setting up any signs to guide guests on where to go or what to do? If so, what signs are you displaying? Are you making them, or buying them? Let's see some pictures of your signs!

Our venue has a back room full of supplies that we can use- free of charge. Seen a lot of the signage that others posted here in that room that we will probably use.

Thank you. If you haven't already, I'd give etsy a shot. I believe they also have templates and you can get it printed at wal mart or office max or something.

    We had the following:

    - a chalkboard sign done up by my venue at the entrance that said something like 'Welcome to the wedding of'

    - a COVID sign with precautions/guidelines displayed on an easel

    - a 'find your seat' sign at the ceremony; normally we wouldn't have had assigned seats, but, alas lol

    - a 'gifts & cards' sign on the gift/card table, along with a 'please sign our guestbook' sign on the same table

    - seating chart displayed on an easel

    - and of course the standard table numbers (along with menus)

Having been to a TON of recent weddings all across the sign spectrum, think about anything you want your guests to do that is not absolutely obvious - and put THAT on a sign (ie. don’t sit in a particular row, put a Polaroid from picture booth in guest book, bathrooms are upstairs, blankets are free to use/keep). Many Pinterest signs are really non-essential (ie. a wall menu for a buffet, they will see the food when they get there!).
Nothing is more frustrating as a guest than 10 firstday/yesday/bestday signs but you can’t figure out how seating works!

We hadn't planned on any signs, but then a friend of mine - who got married the month after us - went out of her way to paint us a little sign for our welcome table/sweetheart table.

I received it 5 days before the wedding and basically cried.

    Our venue provided directional signs.

We're planning on doing blankets too! Do you mind if I ask how many guests you had, and how many blankets you purchased?

We're going to have a welcome, gifts&cards/guestbook, unplugged ceremony, memorial table, and menu signs!

Awesome! Did you do the same material/design for each sign? Or all different?

True - I agree that guests should be able to figure out where to go/what to do for the most part. I think the welcome signs can be helpful especially if there are multiple weddings in the same location on the same day (such as, at a hotel with multiple ballrooms) - the names on the sign would help give peace of mind knowing that you're at the right wedding lol. But otherwise, most other signs probably aren't necessary. They do look nice though!

Absolutely! I got these blankets from Walmart at 2.50 a blanket. And our guest count was 65, and we had 40 blankets, my wedding was in November however it was 75 degrees. LOL. (TN weather is so unpredictable) after the wedding was over with, I had maybe 10 blankets left? I donated them to a local school's kindergarten class for naptime!

Great idea to print them through Vistaprint! Were they printed on posters? Or what material? I'm considering doing a welcome sign, but I've never printed through Vistaprint or anywhere before.

Those are the same ones my FMIL sent me a couple of days ago! haha, that's awesome! I think she got 12 in the gray color and cleaned the shelves, but we're having est. 170 for our Jan '22 wedding. 😬 We're thinking that one blanket per 2-3 guests was a good ratio? I tried looking for them on walmart's website, but didn't find any!

    Thanks so much!

I will definitely check out Etsy again - thank you for the recommendation! I've never thought to get a template and print it elsewhere, so I will look into it. Great idea!

Yes we had to rotate cleaning out Walmart, and Idk where you live, but there is a store in TN called Old Time Pottery, they also have the same blankets for the same price. I think that is a good ratio though, the kids were the one's who wanted the blankets the most, so just plan for their little hands to grab them 😊
