What size favor bags for Candy Buffet?

Marie S. (aka Princess Leia), on May 29, 2012 at 6:21 AM Posted in Planning 0 22

Hi Ladies,

What size favor bag should I order for our candy buffet?

I was thinking 4x6. The other sizes seem too small... What are you using?

I'd go to 4x6. The bigger the bag, the more candy you need.

I agree with Celia. Plus I think the smaller size makes a cuter presentation. Have you tried buying from bulk candy websites?

You may also want to check to see if there are any big suppliers in your area. In planning my own wedding I stumbled across the wholesaler that supplied candy to all the candy stores in the area. I scored big time in the price department. Good Luck!

Ginormous is the only acceptable size when it comes to anything sweet.

One of my couples used tiny Chinese food containers, which were completely adorable. They bought them from a take-away place and stamped their monogram on them. It was screaming cute!

No one will be going to sleep that night, FMC.

Marie I think go with the smaller, less money for you and discourages greediness.

    Lol FMC!

I agree with Labake. We got 4x6 bags for free when we ordered our tub of popcorn from Garrett's and they worked just fine. We also set out the rest of our 3x3 favor boxes and people filled those up too.

Marie, these are the ones we used. 5x7. They were the perfect size, and looked darling with a little round VP sticker in the design we used for everything else. Everybody thought they were darling, because they are real candy shop bags. They come in a ton of colors too.

Soon to be Mrs C--I have to warn any one who is going to use chinese take out boxes--Make sure you get the 16 oz-- AND make sure if you buy before seeing--as in online--that you have time to send them back and go another direction if need be. I ordered 8 oz boxes from a seller on Ebay. Not only were they too small, but the handles were dented, and they just looked cheap and awful.. I Don't blame him, mind you. They arrived in their original packaging, but I was not pleased with them at all. The seller, however, was very gracious about the return, and refunded my money very quickly. Thankfully, I still had time to get our bags instead, and those worked beautifully, as I stated above. If you haven't already gotten your boxes, search the boards for threads about them. I know a lot of brides have found ones they've been very happy with.

8 ounces for a CFC should be fine; just go and buy some from your local Chinese place!

The smaller they are, the better it is. I bought these at Michaels and glued on my VP business cards.

I agree to go with the small bag that way the guest can fill them up and you won't have to worry about running out of candy or having way to much left over!

I got 5x7 paper bags from Etsy, I actually thought they were gonna be bigger and now think anything smaller would be too small. I bought them plain and stamped them with a few different stamps in our colors.

Tach, I was a little surprised by our 5x7 bags too--but they worked just fine. Just enough candy fit into them. BTW-we did put candy in the 8 oz chinese boxes we got, and they just didn't hold much at all. We had almost a hundred people at our reception, and we had a ton of candy left over. MOOOOOOO---- LOL.
