What Size Mason Jars do I Use to Surround My Lanterns for Centerpieces?

Megan, on December 21, 2012 at 10:19 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

I am hoping to duplicate this look. We are also having different lanterns on the tables with two mason jars per table. Does anyone know if I should use pint or quart sized jars?

Thank you!

Ummm, were you in my head, listening to my thoughts when I came up with my reception decor?!! LOL!! We have the same concept! My theme is country.

I'm using three different size mason jars, the two sizes in your photo and the small ones (I think the small ones are 4ozs? Not sure) with white lanterns. If that helps...

You don't have to use just one size. But, if that's what you want, do you have a photo of your lanterns, so that we can see how tall/short they are?

What size are your lanterns? You might want to offset the size of the lanterns if they are taller with smaller mason jars, the pint size jars which are also used for drinking, would look lovely or you can mix and match for a true rustic feel. Where is your wedding? New England Country Rentals has a large selection of mason jars www.newenglandcountryrentals.com email ****@************************.*** for more information & good luck!

Our lanterns are different sizes. I wanted a different lantern on each table for a real rustic feel. They average about a foot in height but again, some are taller and some smaller. I guess I can use pint and quart sizes depending on the size of the lanterns. We are getting married in New Hope, PA at holly Hedge Estate. It's already a gorgeous rustic venue so we are keeping accents to a minimal level. Again, we bought a lot of different lanterns but I will try to post a pic that shows them all.

I"ve been getting the lanterns mainly from Pier One, usually a sale. I also have people on the lookout for lanterns especially in outlet stores (Pottery Barn, etc.). These were fairly reasonable and like I said, each table will have a different lantern. I thin I'll just get both sizes to offset each lantern. There's so many different lanterns that are so cute.

I've heard that Walmart has the blue mason jars for a good price so that's my next venture.
