I know, I think lighting adds so much. Here’s the reception space. What Sold You On Your Venue? 1

Though it was a couple of things, the biggest thing, and I know this is going to sound bonkers, was the height of the ceilings! We looked at so many places where the ceilings felt so low! My fiancé is 6'2" and one of his groomsmen is 6'8" and a lot of the places we looked at made me, at a full foot shorter than my fiancé, feel like I had to stoop to move around! The place we ended up with has beautifully high ceilings! The other bonuses we loved was an outdoor ceremony space that we didn't hate (like the one that was on the side of the road with no coverage, on a hill?!) and the multiple spaces we get to use that day (ceremony space, ballroom, the bar in a separate room, outdoor patio with a fireplace, heat lamps and lights, and a bridal suite).

The price was also a huge factor. It not only was within our budget, but we got the most stuff for it at our venue than any other place we toured (open bar allowance, passed hors d'oeuvres, champagne toast, a cake!). It has some sentimental value, its in the town my fiancé and his parents all grew up in, my future mother-in-law having been to many events there as a kid, and one of my future father-in-law's sisters was married there. Which is a lovely bonus for us, as our wedding date is already sentimental (the same date my fiancé's grandparents were married, a fact neither of us knew when we chose it!).

We’re going to Puerto Rico in January 23 for our wedding! We chose Puerto Rico for weather and the fact that we have been there a couple times and love it more every time… just holds a special place in our hearts. We chose this particular venue because of its uniqueness and its history!! We both come from pretty religious backgrounds and so even though we’ve chosen not to follow that way the fact that the venue was a convent and the reception is where mass was at one point is just a huge plus for us in terms of acknowledging that part of our histories ❤️

The exposed brick and beams. The price was right and I loved the feel of it. It was small enough without being cramped (the chandelier was added and not a standard feature) I don’t have a good photo on hand to show the whole room What Sold You On Your Venue? 3

The wine cave! There were several in Napa but the one we chose was the best, it had restrooms inside the cave, and was climate controlled. And the ceremony spit was dang romantic too!

Totally makes sense! Especially with having 200 people on the guest list, having more than 2 stalls would pretty much be a necessity. I'm surprised that the other venues you looked at didn't have that, especially if they could host at least 200 people. Awesome that the venue you booked has everything else you wanted too!

This has a very classy industrial feel to it, and I love the lighting! Great find! Awesome that it's all-inclusive too. Are you planning to add any decor to it?

Nothing major honestly. I'm not a flower person so for our ceremony on the mezzanine we'll do an arch with string lights along the railing. we also plan to do some lanterns along the aisle. We'll be getting married after it's already dark out and think the backdrop of the lighting will be really pretty.
Our DJ package comes with up lighting and a monogram so we'll have that during the reception and the arch from the ceremony will become the backdrop for our sweetheart table. We haven't figured out centerpieces for the tables, but we're not big on decoration as it is and feel like the space gives off the exact vibe we want without much.

The biggest things for us were that it was climate controlled, could hold enough people, and wasn't super rustic. We picked a barn venue because there aren't a ton of great in-between venues around us that aren't super ballroom fancy or like Moose Lodge casual, but neither of us actually want a rustic wedding with burlap and wood slabs. This place definitely has some built-in rustic features, but most of what they have can be decorated in a way to make it look closer to what we were hoping for. Since our wedding is in early October we could have summer weather or we could get snow, so complete AC and heat were important to us. And since we have around 150 people on our guest list, we needed a space that could comfortably hold that many. Some places we looked at would need to seat some people outside and we weren't for that at all. It's definitely not exactly what either of us wanted, and I think we could've found something better if we looked farther from home, but it was also close enough for his grandparents to be able to attend since they're pretty frail and can't do long trips, and having them in attendance was overall more important than finding the perfect venue.

We ran into a similar issue! One of the venues we looked at listed a fairly high capacity online (higher than the number that we planned to invite), though when we toured the venue in person, we weren't sure that even half that capacity would fit comfortably, so we ruled it out.

Your venue looks gorgeous!! I love how light the space looks, and all the windows! Great find on the venue!

Ooh, I love that second photo! Definitely beachy, and I love the lighting! The ceremony location on the water is gorgeous as well. Great find!! Are you planning to decorate it similar to those photos? That drapery in the reception space makes it look so nice!

Haha funny that you should ask! I keep going back and forth on the drapery . We are definitely doing the chandeliers but there are also market lights and I feel like the drapes might hide it… plus they are like an extra $800. But I will probably end up adding them.

I liked that ours had more of a modern feel and price wise it was better. ALSO parking in that plaza it was at was far better.

where i live the parking is horrendous so it was nice that this plaza had ample parking

Ours actually has history with both of us. It's a community hall where I grew up taking dance classes on the top floor, and he was in martial arts downstairs. We knew each other back in those days, but weren't close friends and didn't reconnect until 6 years ago. When we learned the hall did rentals, we both jumped at the chance!

These are all photos from the venues instagram! Grand View in MA. I chose this venue because I love the beach but my fiancé prefers lakes so I loved how we get the best of both words. Also, I love how the ballroom is all white and gold! It was the prettiest and cheapest and included the most in the package of all venues we looked at!!

Seems like this venue was totally meant to be for your wedding! How cool that everything worked out! I love all the green in the ceremony space. Does the venue provide the arch? It looks so pretty!
