What time did you get ready?

Lexi, on March 10, 2016 at 5:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 31

What time are/did you get your hair and makeup done before your wedding? My bridesmaids and I are getting picked up at 3:30 PM and my stylist recommends that we all be ready by 2:00 PM so we have time for touch ups, to eat and anything last minute. She wants to get started at 9:00 AM. We are getting airbrush makeup that is supposed to last for 24 hours but does this seem too early?! I have very thin/fine hair and am worried about my hair going flat before the 5:00 PM ceremony. Unfortunately, getting ready at the venue is not an option due to space/lighting restrictions. HELP!

I am following this. I am in the same boat, but with a 6:30 wedding, and my girls, and parents on both sides are staying the night before, so I feel like well be sitting around most of wedding day?

We had our hair appointments at the salon at 8am. Then back to my house for lunch. Makeup was 12-2pm (MUA came to my house). We left for the venue at 3pm. We got dressed at the venue. First look at 4:30 pm followed by pictures. Ceremony at 6:30 pm.

Have you had a hair trial yet? Is it your regular stylist? If so, then she knows what to do with your hair to make it stay put all day!

@LiveLaughKraft - you probably won't be sitting around. You want to find the fine line between running around like a crazy woman and sitting around. Our schedule was a full one, but also allowed time to sit at the table and have lunch and relax a while. Plus the time at the salon was relaxing with muffins and mimosas.

We are having a 5 PM ceremony with our first look at 3 PM, and we are starting hair and makeup between 8-8:30 AM to be ready at 1. I have 6 BMs- 2 hair stylists and 1 makeup artist (not all BMs are getting makeup done). Give yourself plenty of time!

5pm ceremony, and I'm doing my hair and makeup from 10-12 (it's just me though, no bridal party). I chose to go to the salon so earlier the better for me, so I can handle all the other little details of the day after that.

If I were having her come to me, I would have done a 12-2 timeslot at the hotel.

Lexi, it sounds like she is also doing your bridesmaids, so remember that you aren't likely to be first at 9 am. We started at 10 am for a 430 pm ready by time. My hair/make up didn't start until like 230. All my girls went before me. You will be fine!! The touch ups will help any issues! You'll be beautiful!

We will be at the salon at 8 am, she will start on me at 10:30, and we will be out the door at noon. Pictures start at 1:30, and ceremony is at 4:30, reception to immediately follow at the same location. All photos will be done before the ceremony except those with Grandmas, as two of them have mobility issues and walking around the park will be difficult.

We also planned to leave for the venue around 4 and started at 9:30am. We got to the hotel at 9 and hair/makeup showed up at 9:30. You will not be one of the first people done, in fact you will be close to last (but not dead last) so I wouldn't worry about your hair falling.

Our ceremony is starting at 12. We are starting hair and makeup at 7:30. It is myself, three bridesmaids and both mothers. Ceremony is only 5 minutes from my house though.

Our ceremony will start at 3:30, I want to be ready by 2. My hairstylist scheduled my hair appointment for 9am so that she would have time to do my hair and i would still have time to drive to my venue and do my makeup and stuff.

I'm following! My ceremony is not until 4pm yet I was unaware makeup takes a whole hour per face not to mention hair and everything else for myself and my 3 bridesmaids and my mom. I'm a tad nervous about being on time!
