Our wedding starts at 3:30 and I read that guests should be arriving 30 minutes before the wedding start time. So my question is do I put on the invitation 3:30 to 10 and hope nobody comes in the middle of the ceremony or should I put 3:00 to 10 to be on the safe side? When did you plan your...

When did you plan your ceremony to start versus what start time you put on the invitations?

If your wedding starts at 3:30, your invitation should say 3:30. I would be extremely annoyed if I showed up at 2:30 for a wedding that, according to the invitation, is supposed to start at 3 and then sat there for an entire hour because the couple didn’t think I was responsible enough to show up on time.

Put the time the ceremony starts. Most responsible adults know to arrive before pretty much any event is scheduled (doctor’s appointment, concert, dinner reservations, etc.). If you put 3:00, I’d try to get there around 2:40-2:45 and then I’d spend the next 45 minutes wondering what the heck was going on and if the bride or groom didn’t show up or something, Lol. If there are specific people in your guest list who you know are chronically late (I get it, I have an aunt like that), reach out to them personally and emphasize the ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30.

I think 15 minutes is more than enough. But just be up front about it. Seating starts at 3:00, ceremony begins promptly at 3:15 or whatever.
