What time should my photographer arrive??

Amethyst, on May 2, 2019 at 9:34 AM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hello everyone, I am currently filling out my booking form with my photographer. It obviously asks for a start time and I have no idea what to put. I am not having ‘getting ready’ photos. Photos will start at the wedding ceremony and finish at the first dance. Guests will be arriving at the ceremony venue around 3.30pm and I will be arriving at 4pm, so what time should I say to my photographer to arrive. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

I would probably have them come at 3:30 to give a cushion.

If you want photos of the empty ceremony space, I would do 3 so there is time before people arrive. If you don't then 3:30 should be fine.

I would clarify if they're asking for what time they'll actually be starting to take photos, or what time they'll be actually arriving. My photographers told us they always arrive 30 minutes prior to "start time" so they can set up properly.

I would say maybe have them start taking pictures at like 3:45? That way they can get some guest photos before the ceremony and be all ready for when you arrive.

Talk to the photographer about this. Tell them all these times. In most cases, the photographer will like to arrive earlier to get a feel for lighting needs and the space but how that relates to contracted time may vary by photographer. Mine was there an hour before the actual photo taking started but that was what she did and not part of our contracted photo taking hours

I would think maybe 3pm so the photographer can prepare what he needs to prepare. But honestly, just talk to your photographer. He would know. I didn't tell ours what time he should arrive. He gave me a timeline of how things would flow.
