Hi everyone,

I started this wedding registry and I'm undecided about what to ask for. I've heard from a lot of my married friends that they put a lot of things on their registry that, in the long run, they didn't need. So, I'd like to asked the already married couples:

What do you wish you put on your registry and what do you wish you left off?

The last thing I want to do is end up with a lot of random things that we won't really use.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, that makes sense! We definitely need to replace our current keurig and we could use an upgrade on some of our dishes. Thank you for the suggestion about the Honeymoon Fund because I feel like we need one Smiley smile

It's hard to know what you won't really use because you don't realize that until later on. We lived together for 5 years before getting married but here was still plenty I put on my registry! I was not shy about adding things. I wanted to give my guests lots of options and most places give you a discount for the items left on your registry if you want to purchase after your wedding so I made sure to add things I really wanted that I knew i would be willing to buy myself! We did put a new bed spread on our registry and I don't necessarily care for it anymore. We bought a house a year after getting married and got a bigger bed so I don't need that comforter for myself anymore. But things we did put on there that I am so glad I got are luggage, a good knife block. a Dyson vacuum, a handheld vacuum. I really wanted china and I use it but I know lots of people that don't so if you won't use that don't list it. Literally anything you might want or could use put on there! Sometimes people will surprise you and go in on bigger items.

That is a great point! We've lived for almost 4 years now and I feel like we still need everything. So, I definitely will make sure to add things at different price points so that our guests have lots of options. Thank you!

I'd definitely start with a big exhaustive checklist like other brides have said! Then you can cross off things you already own and add additional items that interest you!

Here's a great list you can use as a starting point, I like the way it's broken down by room:
