What to do? How to plan a wedding?

Congrats on your engagement, the first thing you should do is sit with your partner and determine a budget and vision for your special day. Depending on what you decide (big, small, destination, courthouse, local, rustic, dinner, brunch, elegant, etc) you start looking at venues thats fit your budget, vision, and capacity, once you book your venue you will have your date and can figure out the other details from there or hire a planner to help you do so. I was in the same boat when I got engaged. What helped me create a vision was browsing pinterest. Setting a budget will also help.

This was me. I started planning 2/21 our wedding is 10/23 and I can't decide on anything 😂 I can't even make a budget.


Sit down and figure out if you want a big wedding, a small intimate wedding, elopement, or even a court house. From there I'd get a general idea of how much you want to spend, and then I'd add some extra wiggle room into that as well.

Or find a wedding planner. I wish I would have done that.

Start with a budget, because that will determine all of the other decisions you make.
