What to do with Makeup Trial? 🤷‍♀️

Alyssa, on April 29, 2021 at 2:13 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
What did you guys use for your makeup trial? I’d like to use it for something, rather than just taking it off right away! I’ve heard of using it for the bridal party, pictures, or something like that, but I also don’t want my fiancée to see me with the makeup on (in real life or pictures on social media).

I'm going to try and schedule my trial the same day we have either my bridal shower, or one of our couple's showers!

I get your concerns, but honestly, I highly doubt he'll notice/remember that your wedding makeup was the same as it was in those photos of you at your shower or at that party. Most guys don't think too deep about that stuff lol.

Some posters have mentioned using it as getting ready for engagement pictures or going out to dinner after.

I’ve seen a lot of people do it the same day as engagement photos. But if you don’t want him to see it maybe consider going out with your MOH or bridesmaid to a nice dinner afterwards!

So I got my hair and makeup trials done on the same day. I had the hairstylist take out part of my hair and removed the false lashes and hubby and I went on a date. He couldn’t tell you what my face looks like on any given day ten minutes after I wash my makeup off so I wasn’t super concerned.

I had my make-up trial before my bachelorette, so I was all dolled up for a night on the town. Honestly though, your FH is unlikely to remember your wedding makeup look. It's going to look completely different on the day of with the hair, dress, veil, and all that.

I have also seen people who got their HMU trial the same day as their dress fitting so they could get a preview of their whole look.

I'm going to plan it for my bridal shower.

FH will only be showing up towards the end of the shower to drive me home and I know he wont remember what I even look like months in advance lol.

I also know that my stylist will unpin my hair so it's different from what it will be when fully done.

I scheduled mine for the day of my bridal shower AND honestly planned to show up as I would the day of the wedding. But, the MUA said “sure that day is fine and I’ll change the look at the end so your guests don’t see exactly what they will on the wedding day.” I didn’t even think about it so maybe you can request that Smiley smile

Most people do it on the day of their engagement photos or bridal shower. I don’t think your fiancé will really notice, to be honest lol

I would plan a girls date night if you don't want hubby to see. I do think brides should wear their looks as long as possible (6+ hours or more) to get an idea of how their look lasts throughout the day, but some slight modifications (like removing lashes) would probably be fine.
