What to do with our dog during our wedding?

Kersten, on June 12, 2019 at 12:48 PM Posted in Illinois Planning 0 2
Hello!! I am getting married in Lake Geneva, WI and unfortunately the venue is not dog friendly 😞 which is fine because our dog isn’t great around large groups of people, but we live about an hour and half away from the venue. The local hotels are not dog friendly and my entire family and friends who I trust will be at the wedding. My dog is my life and having to settle knowing he won’t be at the wedding is hard enough now to decide what to do is as difficult. I’ve heard some crazy horror stories about pet sitters at your home and doggie hotels!

    Hi Kersten!

I am a dog lover too and couldn’t imagine leaving my doggie Finn behind! Your post actually breaks my heart a little as I can just imagine how you feel Smiley sad

I know you’ve said you’ve heard horror stories about doggie hotels, however, would you consider visiting a few? You may be completely surprised by them and find the one you would be comfortable leaving your dog with. Are there many in your area? Do you have any friends or coworkers with dogs that could recommend one?

If you find one you like, you could try one night before the wedding to see how your dog gets on and to help you get used to the feeling of leaving him/her there. It may make it easier for the wedding.

What type of dog do you have?
