What to do with the leftover centerpieces? What are you guys doing?

Julie B, on September 11, 2011 at 6:28 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 35

I'm pretty sure I will have to buy mine and put them together, so , what am I going to do with 30 or so vases and candles and pounds of brown "glass gems"? Thought I might put a sticker on the bottom of one favor box at each table. The person who sits at that place writes their name on the sticker and I will mail all the pieces to them after the wedding. Who wants to drag a wet vase and all that junk back to the hotel or home. Any thoughts?

My centerpieces are doubling as favors...so folks will take them home! A couple of weddings I've been to, they told us if we wanted the centerpiece to take it. If you don't want them hanging around, you could offer them to those who want them =)

We'll have about 12 or so tables for our friends and family with centerpieces on each one, but with us moving into an apartment a month after the wedding, I'm going to get in touch with my creative side and turn the apartment into a peaceful place- Our centerpieces include tea light metal lanterns, river stones, glass cylinders with silk flowers inside and a clear gel that makes them look like they're 'underwater' with another tea light on top. I'll also find a way to use the tulle and chiffon we're weaving through the rafters of the reception venue. In a way doing this will always remind me of the day we got married every time we come home! Smiley smile

You could sell them! Or, i like the idea you have suggested. That is what we're doing with ours.

We're using pumpkins as our centerpieces so hopefully people will take them since I don't know what we'll do with 10+ pumpkins at our house. LOL.

Our in-town guests each took one of the table centerpieces home with them. Our big centerpieces from the church went to a senior care facility where they deconstructed them and made 20-30 individual smaller arrangements for the people who never get any visitors.

His sister is setting up our reception. She is an event planner, so we are giving ours to her.

Amy O., that is a wonderful idea! I'll have to see if there's something similar we can do.

Otherwise, I planned on listing them on Craigslist for free and passing on some good will. Or donating them.

I will probably put mine on craigslist. Or if I know of somebody planning a wedding and trying to save some money, I might pass them on to them.

Let your guests take them. They would be cute at home but someone doesn't need 30 vases. Maybe 2 or 3 but not 30.

I'm planning my wedding from a distance and I too was thinking about what to do with all the centerpieces. I definitely don't want to bring all the centerpieces home. I really like this idea from Martha Stewart, plus it would really fit into my garden themed wedding.

You'll waste a lot of money by mailing them to people afterwards (you have to buy boxes and the postage). If you really want them to take them, I'd make an announcement that people are free to take the centerpeices or parts of them home with them.

Otherwise, I'd sell the pieces on Ebay or craigslist after the wedding...or if you arent' worried about the money, put it on craigslist for free and hopefully help out a poor bride.

We kept a couple of ours for our dining room table, and sold the rest.

Let the guests take them. I am not cleaning up after the reception so let family and friends enjoy the fresh flowers while we are honeymooning!
