What to do with very old handkerchief.

Mrs G, on July 29, 2013 at 12:00 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

My grandmother yesterday gave me a handkerchief that belonged to my great-great-great-great grandmother for my something old for the wedding. What do you think I should do with it? I really don't want to cut into it or anything because I'd love to pass it along to my daughter someday.

Maybe wrap it around your bouquet?

Wrap it around the bouquet. Tuck it into the bouquet.

Tack it to the inside of your dress somewhere.

Tuck it into the bouquet or carry it with your bouquet.

I'd probably sew it into my dress (on the inside) just to make sure not to lose it. A basting stitch shouldn't hurt the handkerchief or your dress.

My hanky was my something old and something blue. I tucked it into my purse, but forgot to take it out for the ceremony. When I remembered it, I wrapped it around my bouquet holder -- so it is in some of the pics.
