What to do with wedding dress

Morgan0318, on September 22, 2020 at 11:30 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
So, I was engaged before and had bought a dress (pictured below) but obviously things didn’t work out and now I am with my fiancé and I am wanting to get a completely different dress. I’ve tried selling this dress and haven’t had any luck and I don’t want to just give it away for free because it was expensive and I was hoping to use some of the money from this one towards my new one... any other suggestions?
I do not want to wear it as it carries too many bad memories, and it’s just not what I want for my December wedding next year... What to do with wedding dress 1

There are websites online that you can list it on, such as Poshmark or Stillwhite. Otherwise, maybe list it on Facebook marketplace or see if a secondhand dress shop near you will buy it from you?

Hmmm you cannot exchange it for a store credit or another dress?

Stillwhite.com and usedweddingdress.com are popular sites to list dresses. There is always mercari, ebay, poshmark, or Facebook marketplace too. You could also search for used wedding dress shops and see if they will either purchase it from you or sell it on consignment.

I am sorry. I mean keep it posted and see if someone purchases it but yeah you may have to take the hit and second hand store it like a pp said. I am sorry. I do not blame you for wanting to get rid of it.

I have heard that it can take a while to sell. Keep it posted on multiple sites (maybe also re-post it from time to time), and maybe consider lowering the price? You likely won't get back what you paid for it, though you'll probably have better luck if the price was competitive. Good luck!!

Oh yeah, I know I won’t get what I paid for it. I paid over $1700 and am only asking $800 for it.. just a waiting game I guess

By no luck, you mean no one is willing to buy it for the price you want? Or is no one interested at all?

If you've had no success selling, you can always donate to needy women or to be made into burial gowns for deceased babies.

No one is interested at all... 😫 haven’t had any comments. I posted it on eBay and had a few watchers but that’s about it.

I know you don’t want to give away the dress for free, but IF you decide to, I donated a dress I wasn’t going to use to Adorned In Grace. They stand against sex trafficking and help victims. I tried selling the dress first, but I didn’t get any hits and I didn’t want it just sitting there collecting dust.

The dress is gorgeous. Try selling it consignment or at a bridal site. Even FB Marketplace- I sold all my wedding stuff on there!
