What to do with your aisle way

Courtney, on September 4, 2016 at 9:33 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9

Hey all..I don't post much but it's getting down to the nitty gritty and I dunno how this would work. For my aisle way I want to have flower petals going down each side. We don't have a flower girl. So would guests still be brought down the aisle or do we have them go to their seats from the sides of the aisle? I definitely don't want my flower petals scattered all over the place...or I am over thinking this

I've seen the aisle decorated with rose petals and the end roped off so guests have to go in the sides. That could work for you.

I would have guest go down the sides and block the aisle until it's time for the wedding party to go down. Aisle runners do not hold up for a lot of people walking on them (high heels) and your petals will be everywhere!

I actually wanted the sides of our aisle to be lined with petals, but upon asking our florist and wedding coordinator about it, I learned that they get blown all over the place at our ceremony site. I'd recommend asking someone at your venue whether this has worked well at your ceremony site in the past. Hopefully your ceremony site will be less breezy than mine!

If you get the go ahead from your ceremony site, having guests seated from the sides should be fine.

We lined our aisle with petals. It definitely did not get messed up by guests being seated but if you want, you can use tulle or ribbon to "rope off" the aisle until the ceremony begins.

@ annakay511 that's a great idea and it would be pretty also!

We're planning on the petal runners, and I believe they rope off the aisle until it's time for the bridal party to walk.

I made little paper hearts cost me less than $15 for all of them. I made over 120.

I looked into petals but they add up super quickly and if it's windy it can be a mess. Also check on the rules of your venue (some chapels do not allow real flowers) you also need someone to clean up and set up the petals.
