What to expect at David’s Bridal

Arianna, on July 11, 2020 at 9:10 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 27
Hey fellow brides!! So I was wondering if any of you have had a David’s bridal appointment recently and what it was like? Did you have to put the dresses on yourself and have someone you brought along zip you? I’m going next weekend to find a new dress and wanted to know what to expect...thanks everyone!!

I had an appointment with them on a weekend, and my consultant was double booked. So she brought dresses to me, dropped them off, and left to go help the other bride, but didn't help zip the dresses or anything. I've heard the experiences are different based on store, though I've heard it's common for the consultant to be double booked. I'd recommend bringing someone with to help.

You essentially get measured and pick a few dresses that you want to try on then she’ll Get your size or similar size in the back. She offered to help put them but i brought my sister to help

I never got measured. I went recently to pick out an elopement dress, and they didn't help you into the dresses like they did when I picked out my big dress. Instead, they brought the dress in for me and helped me zip it up outside of the room. Make sure you ask for a torsolette (corset bra combo) and a shift, because my consultant messed up and people saw my spiderman underwear in one of the thinner dresses. Make sure you're vocal on what you want, and you must wear a mask. Try and have fun!

I know about the corset bra combo and love them so I definitely have to get one of those. Makes sense now that I think of it that they would zip you out of the dressing room. I think I’m pretty sure on what I want and I do know about the mask. Thank Kathryn!!!

You can go online and set up an account and then select some dresses as favorites. I have been to two different ones and never got measured. They will go with a bigger dress and clip you in. Now with CDC guidelines I do not think they provide shapewear. My first time back October of last year the lady was inside the stall with me helping me get dressed and there were many people in the store but now max of two guests can be allowed and she handed me the dresses and I put them on myself but she was there to help zip and give advice or answer questions. I know it is because of social distancing but in another store that is not DB the consultant was in the dressing room with me so it depends. I think now you only have one hour to try on dresses.

I have an account and I also linked my Pinterest wedding dress board. They asked my bra size when I set up the appointment and I asked my friend and she said they never asked her that online before so I’m not sure what that’s about. I know with the guidelines it will be different but I wasn’t sure how different. I’m also going to a boutique store afterwards so it will be interesting to see how different they are.

That is good to shop around. I had nice experiences at both David's Bridals. Also, the consultant may give you some dresses that they think you may like to try on to. They were very knowledageable.

Oh definitely I only have one David’s close to me the other one is by my moms house but I figured 2 in one day should be enough to at least decide on what exactly I want. Im willing to try on anything they bring

I went recently and had to wear mask. They do ask for a maximum of 2 guests, but others can wait outside and do a flip flop. At least where I am, it eventually slowed down and they let 4 guests come in for me. My consultant was not at the moment double booked, but she said that it is not the norm even during regular times. She did not come in the stall with me (which I preferred), but if I needed help she would help. I think they made it as normal for me as possible under the circumstances!

I expect the mask. They said 2 people max which is fine. It honestly don’t matter to me as long as I have help zipping and pinning if need be.

I did have help with those, though they are also wearing gloves. My lady was very clear about asking permission to touch me when needed so I think if you need help just letting them know!

When I went a few weeks ago, masks were required, and you had to put the dresses on yourself, but the assistant would zip you or clip you or whatever you needed. THERE WAS A 5 DRESS LIMIT. I did not know that going in and felt like I really didn’t get to try the dresses I wanted entirely, so I’d find the dresses you want to try most before going in! Also they don’t let you flip through the racks to choose, so you basically have to tell them what you think you want and they bring you the closest thing. Do yourself a favor and pick your favorites before going in! I’d make a top 10 list in case any aren’t in store!

I did not! I oddly ended up being there like 2.5 hours. We didn't realize where the time went! I think I tried on like 10. Then they let me try some on more than once. It may depend on how busy they are. I wonder if the 5 dress limit comes from having to steam them after each fitting. I was also able to flip through the racks to find some I liked. It really may just depend on the store you go to and how busy they are!

I also recognize I was extremely blessed they let me have the experience I did.

Hhmmm I wonder how it will be at my store. It’s a 10:30am appointment so I’m wondering if it will be busy that early.

Our store doesn't have any dress limit whatsoever. They will help if you ask and they'll be there if you want them there, but if you don't want their help or don't want them there, they will back off. With that being said, I haven't had the best experiences there. I love their prices, but haven't loved any of my experiences aside from lovely prices. Good luck!

I got mine right after quarantine ‘ended’ and they opened stores and I’ve been there a few times for bridesmaid dresses too. at mine I was only able to try on 6 dresses, could not be measured, and my MOH had to help me in them. You couldn’t touch any dresses either so have a good idea of what you want to try on in advance! I knew my size already and had 5 picked out so it worked out for me but it could be very difficult if you are unsure of what you are looking for
