What to include in Wedding Invitations

Sharyl, on December 14, 2020 at 1:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hi! I am planning to send out wedding invites at the end of this month. Besides the invitation itself, I have included the RSVP & response card with return address, direction & lodging card and registry information. Am I missing anything? Or is that too much?

I would leave out the registry information. Instead, add that info to your website, and add the link to your website with the invitations. Also put a stamp on the RSVP envelope for them to mail back. And also include the addresses of the ceremony and reception locations! Otherwise, sounds like you have everything else covered.

I agree with leaving the registry info off and placing it on you website. Also, invitations typically go out 6-8 weeks before the wedding unless it is a destination wedding. So you might want to wait a little longer to send them out.

I agree with not including the registry info with your invitation. You can put a link the registry on your wedding website, and guests can access it there.

No registry information in the invites. It is spread by word of mouth or listed on the website. Do not include website info on the invite unless you are using it to collect replies. The website is listed on your save the date magnets.

You can make a single details card with lodging, directions (these are often their own card with a small map in addition to written), reception info if it's at a different location from the ceremony. The reply card includes detailed meal selections for a plated meal plus individual names of those invited. You can also provide this detailed info on rsvpify.com if you choose to collect replies online or via text, and a list of how/where to reply listed on the card. The reply card envelope will be stamped by you so they can drop it in the mail.
