Do you know what kind of reception you two are in the mood for? Elegant? Romantic? Chill? Rowdy?
If you don't know where to start, start with a standard reception. What version of those things (food, decor, first dance, etc) fits the mood you want? Anything you don't like, remove it. If you have a random idea you'd love, add it. If you have no idea what to do, it's fine to just do the standard thing. It will become yours because you and your people will be doing it.
I bet an all-inclusive reception venue can also simplify this process if you're feeling overwhelmed!

You'll have to decide the vibe that you are going for with your wedding reception. Different things could play into this including the venue, time of day, type of music, etc.
